My friend and I binge watched these movies in less than five hours yesterday and we are yet to get over the experience, from roller coasters to twists to "what the hell is this?" lol. What I mean is, they are interesting movies that you'd enjoy your time on them except one actually, I thought I needed to warn people off one on this list.
Great storylines with good lessons to take, well played characters and good cinematography... These are just a few of what the first two movies has in store for viewers and for your good time but I'll share more about each one of them and hopefully, you'll see at least one of them.
On Your Wedding Day (2018)
1hr 50mins - Romance & Comedy, starring Park Bo-young and Kim Young-Kwang.
This one was our favourite from all three of them so I'm reviewing it first. The storyline had a lot of reality in it and the comedy was topnotch, we couldn't stop laughing in almost all the scene especially with the male lead scenes. I also liked that the female character is the character from "Strong Woman Bong Soo" and I got to see her in a completely different role.
The story about a physical education teacher who gets a wedding invitation from his first love, he takes us back to their story and how they had to break up to end up with different people. The movie also show the life of the lady whose father whenever drunk would make her relocate with her mum to avoid domestic violence. She is a fashion designer and she falls in love with an unserious student who became more responsible for the sake of love.
It's a 9/10 rating from me on this one, there is almost nothing to hate about this movie even with the way it ended, we don't always expect happy endings but more of reality.
Be With You (2018)
2hr 12mins - Drama, fantasy, romance starring So Ji-seob and Son Ye-yin.
A second best but still a great watch for us. This is the movie with an unexpected twist and had viewers on a roller coaster emotions. Great chemistry between lead characters, the female lead being So Ye-yin from Crash Landing On You. I've seen the guy in a short movie "Always" and that movie was memorable too.
The story is about a woman who dies after a sickness leaving behind her husband and son to care for themselves but had promised that she would come with the rainy season one year later. She fulfilled her promise but came back with no memory of her family or anyone. It was like going over from the beginning with their love story and building family bond but expect a twist.
The storyline is not only unique but also teaches great lessons about life, family and the power of good memory. Be ready to feel sad and happy at the same time. A rating of 9/10 from me on this one too.
Another Way (2015)
1hr 30mins - suicidal & drama, starring Kim Jae-Wook and Seo Ye-ji.
A Must Spoiler alert!
Do not ever see this movie if you haven't yet! I repeat, do not see Another Way lol.
You know that excitement you get to see a movie because of a character you saw in it, I had the excitement about Seo Ye-ji until I was only five minutes into the movie. I can't even start listing out all the things that were wrong about this movie but a whole lot was just off and not even half the expectation we had before seeing it.
The story is just about a girl who is taking care of her paralyzed mother and putting up with her step father's evil behaviours, decided to end her life. Also about a police man whose life took a big blow when his mother committed suicide, he decides to end his life as well. They both connected with each other somehow and made a suicidal pact (agreeing not to die after attempting to die). The end!
Yes, that's the ending. No lessons shared, bad ending with no imagination and wrong memory to keep for viewers, it's 1/10 rating from me and the 1 is because I can't give a zero lol.
So tell me, have you seen any of these movies? Share what you think. And will you check out any one of them? Let me know in the comment section. I'm highly recommending the first two movies.
