Hola hive, hoy les vengo a hablar de lo que para mi es un clásico de mi infancia, en estos días un primo mencionó esta película y me detonó las ganas de verla, así que esa es la razón por la que hoy les quiero venir a hablar sobre Matilda (1996).
Matilda es una película para niños lanzada en 1996, dirigida por el gran Danny DeVito y protagonizada por Mara Wilson. Matilda es una mezcla entre una película para niños, comedia y un buen toque de drama lo que hace que esta película sea bastante sólida, así que comencemos!.
Esta es una de esas películas que he visto toda mi vida, la he visto muchas veces y cada vez que puedo la vuelvo a revisitar, me gusta bastante pero esta última vez intenté verla de una manera un poco más objetiva y que la nostalgia no me ganara.
Para ser sincero no tenía idea de que esta película estaba basada en una novela homónima y hasta hoy que me puse a investigar un poco sobre Matilda fue que me enteré de esto y en mi opinión tiene bastante sentido porque aunque es una película en la cual el público principal son niños la trama es bastante completa y está muy bien escrita.
La trama de esta película es bastante buena, una niña súper dotada que debido a situaciones no muy favorables con su familia logra desarrollar poderes para salirse con la suya pero obviamente todo bajo una perspectiva bastante positiva.
Algo que si me sigue sorprendiendo de esta película es la manera muestran la magia, los efectos que utilizan para lograr estas escenas, digo que me llaman bastante la atención porque aunque obviamente se siente “raro” la verdad es que se ve bastante bien, en términos generales la dirección de esta película es bastante buena (otro dato que no sabía era que el director de esta película era Danny DeVito y también me sorprendió bastante)
Las actuaciones de esta película son impresionantes, especialmente la de nuestra protagonista, siempre me sorprende pensar en el proceso que deben tener los niños para llegar a tener actuaciones de tanto nivel. Algo que quiero destacar es que la última vez la vi en su idioma original (inglés) y a mi parecer cambia mucho la vibra general de la película, todo se siente un poco más serio, en lo personal siempre me llama la atención cuando veo película de mi infancia en su idioma original, sin embargo está en particular me parece adquiere un tono distinto, más que todo por la voz de Matilda que no es tan Dulce como en la que estamos acostumbrados en el doblaje latino.
Otra de las cosas que podemos destacar de esta película es su villana, es una buena antagonista, todos estamos claros que sin este personaje la película no sería lo mismo, porque aunque no lo creamos los villanos tienen más importancia de lo que parece ya que estos son los que la mayoría de veces ayudan a que se cierre el arco de nuestro protagonista y que este crezca como persona (exactamente como en este caso)
Matilda a sido de esas películas que ha logrado pasar generaciones y por esta misma razón es una película que puede disfrutar desde un niño hasta un adulto, y aún hoy en día me parece que ha envejecido bastante bien, aparte de que escenas como la de Bruce se han convertido en memes y esto ayuda a que la película se mantenga en la cultura popular.
En lo personal Matilda me fascina y siendo objetivos me parece una muy buena película, tiene una historia que no decae, una buena villana, un buen final y en general el arco del personaje principal está bien construido. Es cool ver películas clásicas que realmente Sean buenas y que su base no sea simplemente la nostalgia, para mi Matilda es uno de esos casos, es una película que destaca por si sola.

Hello hive, today I come to talk about what for me is a classic of my childhood, these days a cousin mentioned this movie and triggered my desire to see it, so that's the reason why today I want to come to talk about Matilda (1996).
Matilda is a children's movie released in 1996, directed by the great Danny DeVito and starring Mara Wilson. Matilda is a mix between a kid's movie, comedy and a good touch of drama which makes this movie pretty solid, so let's begin!
This is one of those movies that I have seen all my life, I have seen it many times and every time I can I revisit it, I quite like it but this last time I tried to watch it in a little more objective way and that nostalgia didn't win me over.
To be honest I had no idea that this movie was based on a novel of the same name and it wasn't until today that I started to do some research about Matilda that I found out about it and in my opinion it makes a lot of sense because although it is a movie in which the main audience are children the plot is quite complete and it is very well written.
The plot of this movie is pretty good, a super gifted girl who due to not very favorable situations with her family manages to develop powers to get her way but obviously all under a very positive perspective.
Something that keeps surprising me about this movie is the way they show the magic, the effects they use to achieve these scenes, I say that they call my attention because although it obviously feels "weird" the truth is that it looks pretty good, in general terms the direction of this movie is pretty good (another fact that I did not know was that the director of this movie was Danny DeVito and I was also quite surprised).
The performances in this movie are impressive, especially that of our main character, it always amazes me to think about the process that children must have to get to have performances of such a high level. Something I want to highlight is that the last time I saw it in its original language (English) and in my opinion it changes a lot the general vibe of the movie, everything feels a little more serious, personally it always catches my attention when I see movies from my childhood in their original language, however this one in particular seems to me it acquires a different tone, mostly because of Matilda's voice that is not as sweet as the one we are used to in the Latin dubbing.
Another thing that we can highlight of this film is its villain, she is a good antagonist, we are all clear that without this character the film would not be the same, because although we do not believe it the villains have more importance than it seems because these are the ones that most of the time help to close the arc of our protagonist and that this grows as a person (exactly as in this case).
Matilda has been one of those movies that has managed to pass generations and for this reason it is a movie that can be enjoyed from a child to an adult, and even today I think it has aged quite well, besides scenes like Bruce have become memes and this helps the film to stay in popular culture.
Personally Matilda fascinates me and being objective I think it's a very good movie, it has a story that doesn't falter, a good villain, a good ending and in general the main character's arc is well constructed. It's cool to see classic movies that are really good and that their base is not just nostalgia, for me Matilda is one of those cases, it's a movie that stands out by itself.

I saw this movie when I was much younger and the experience is one of the highlights of my childhood.
I agree with what you said about the direction and effects because it didn't look weird to me back then but I'd have to revisit it to watch it from a whole new perspective.
I have no doubt that it aged nicely. Movies like these should never fade, I hope it remains evergreen cuz I'd like the younger generation to watch it and experience the wonder and amazement I experienced.

El personaje de la señorita miel es excelente, ademas es muy interesante porque junto a Matilda ambas se ayudan mutuamente a superarse y no dejarse ganar por el miedo.
