So much to wait for this
Super Mario Bros es una de las películas más esperadas en estos meses o por lo menos por mí, pues hace algunos meses vi un pequeño tráiler que anunciaba su llegada al cine. Esta más que entendido que no era la única que estaba emocionada por verla, ya que la demanda taquillera lo demuestra. Por este motivo entiendo que pocos se animen a leer una reseña de esta película, puesto que quieren vivir la experiencia de primera mano sin ningún tipo de spoiler por el camino, pero tranquilos evitaré dar información más allá de la debida en esta publicación.
Crecí viendo los juegos de Mario en sus diferentes versiones y presentaciones por así decirlo jeje, como la mayoría de los de mi generación, pero lo curioso es ver la emoción de los niños hoy en día por esta película, pues los videojuegos de Mario han transcendido en el tiempo; hasta hace poco recuerdo haber estado jugando Mario Party con mi cuñada, mi concuñado y mi esposo en una noche de juegos.
Por esta y más razones tenía emoción de ver la película y mis expectativas eran un poco altas, pues quería que se sintiera Super Mario Bros en la película y no fuese un intento mal logrado de lo que pudo ser una buena película.
Así que el domingo de la semana pasada me fui a verla junto con mi familia, pero no fue hasta hoy que pude compartir mi publicación con ustedes, pero que bueno que tuve estos días para procesar la película en mi mente.
Super Mario Bros is one of the most awaited movies in these months or at least by me, because a few months ago I saw a small trailer announcing its arrival to the cinema. It is more than understood that I was not the only one who was excited to see it, as the box office demand proves it. For this reason I understand that few are encouraged to read a review of this movie, since they want to live the experience first hand without any spoilers along the way, but rest assured I will avoid giving information beyond what is due in this publication.
I grew up watching Mario games in their different versions and presentations so to speak hehe, like most of my generation, but the funny thing is to see the excitement of kids today for this movie, as Mario video games have transcended time; until recently I remember playing Mario Party with my sister-in-law, my brother-in-law and my husband on a game night.
For this and more reasons I was excited to see the movie and my expectations were a bit high, as I wanted it to feel like Super Mario Bros on film and not be a poorly made attempt at what could have been a good movie.
So last week Sunday I went to see it with my family, but it wasn't until today that I was able to share my post with you, but good thing I had these few days to process the movie in my mind.
El proceso para ver la película fue un poco fastidioso, pues en la ciudad donde estoy solo hay un cine pequeño. Llegamos a las tres de la tarde creyendo en nuestra imaginación ingenua que veríamos la película en la sesión de las cuatro de la tarde, pero para nuestra sorpresa lógica había una gran fila para comprar las entradas y no habíamos alcanzado a avanzar cuando un personal del cine salió a decir que solo quedaban disponibles entradas para las ocho de la noche, o sea, ya no había ni para las 4 ni para las 6 de la tarde.
Después de tanto insistir convencí a mi familia para quedarnos a verla si lográramos las entradas para las 8 de las noches, y si las logramos. Ahora el asunto estaba en esperar todo ese tiempo en la calle para no tener que regresar a la casa porque quedaba distante. Visitamos todas las tiendas posibles para que pasaran las 5 horas rápido. Pero bueno, valió la pena.
Abro un paréntesis para contar mi experiencia en el cine, pues como era de esperarse había muchos niños y era normal escuchar sus gritos y risas durante la película o simplemente sus conversaciones interminables con sus papás, pero bueno estaban emocionados. Otra cosa que no me gustó fue que la película estaba en 3D y pues aunque estábamos bien ubicados era molestoso para la vista, a tal punto de dolernos la cabeza, supongo que eran de muy mala calidad las gafas porque cuando pasaban escenas rápidas se veía borroso. Honestamente, me hubiese gustado ver la película en la comodidad de mi casa sin distracciones y disfrutarla al máximo, pero nada tocó correr al cine, la ansiedad no aguanto más jeje.
The process to see the movie was a bit of a hassle, as in the city where I am there is only one small movie theater. We arrived at three o'clock in the afternoon believing in our naive imagination that we would see the movie in the four o'clock session, but to our logical surprise there was a long line to buy tickets and we had not reached to advance when a cinema staff came out to say that there were only tickets available for eight in the evening, that is, there were no more tickets for 4 or 6 o'clock in the afternoon.
After so much insistence I convinced my family to stay to see it if we could get tickets for 8 pm, and we did. Now the point was to wait all that time in the street so we wouldn't have to go back home because it was so far away. We visited as many stores as possible to make the 5 hours go by quickly. But well, it was worth it.
I open a parenthesis to tell my experience in the movie theater, because as expected there were many children and it was normal to hear their screams and laughter during the movie or just their endless conversations with their parents, but well, they were excited. Another thing I didn't like was that the movie was in 3D and although we were well located it was annoying for our eyes, to the point of hurting our head, I guess the glasses were of very poor quality because when fast scenes passed it was blurry. Honestly, I would have liked to see the movie in the comfort of my home without distractions and enjoy it to the fullest, but nothing, I had to run to the movies, the anxiety could not hold out any longer hehe.
Ahora sí, hablemos un poco de la película. Y comenzaré diciendo que la animación para mí fue una cosa demasiado genial, los personajes muy bien logrados en cada detalle. Que horrible hubiese sido tener una imagen de los personajes y que salieran con un concepto diferente, pero este no fue el caso de la película, la verdad es que la calidad de los personajes estuvo muy bien y pues con lo que alcance a ver en 3D fue genial.
No sé por qué razón, sentí como que la película se me pareció a Ralph el Demoledor, creo que por algunas escenas que guardan el mismo concepto o por lo bonito de los personajes, pero lógicamente con historias diferentes.
Pero ahora qué decirles de la música durante de la película, creo que esto la hace especial, tu oído inmediatamente reacciona a los sonidos que crecieron contigo y Super Mario Bros. Mi momento favorito es cuando cierto personaje toca un instrumento y suena una melodía muy peculiar del videojuego clásico, en ese momento se me erizó la piel, posiblemente por el alto volumen en el cine y porque mi mente se transportó a donde había escuchado esa melodía.
Y hablando un poco de la historia de la película me pareció linda, pero sencilla, no la cargaron de tantos detalles, aunque si me hubiese gustado que se le diera un poco más de base para justificar las emociones de los personajes, sobre todo el de Mario, algo así como que mostraran alguna escena de su infancia o algo que forme más el vínculo de hermanos entre Mario y Luigi.
Por este motivo quedaron preguntas en mi cabeza... ¿Cuántos años tiene Mario? Porque por su bigote supongo que es un adulto como entre los 30 y los 40, y por este mismo motivo me quedaron ciertos vacíos por su relación con sus padres, pero bueno pienso que de algún lado debían mostrar alguna frustración en el personaje.
Now, let's talk a little bit about the movie. And I'll start by saying that the animation for me was too great, the characters were very well done in every detail. How horrible it would have been to have an image of the characters and have them come out with a different concept, but this was not the case of the movie, the truth is that the quality of the characters was very good and with what I got to see in 3D it was great.
I don't know why, I felt like the movie resembled Ralph the Demolitionist, I think because of some scenes that keep the same concept or because of the cute characters, but logically with different stories.
But now what to tell you about the music during the movie, I think this makes it special, your ear immediately reacts to the sounds that grew up with you and Super Mario Bros. My favorite moment is when a certain character plays an instrument and sounds a very peculiar melody of the classic video game, at that moment my skin crawled, possibly because of the high volume in the theater and because my mind was transported to where I had heard that melody.
And talking a little about the story of the movie, I thought it was nice, but simple, they didn't load it with so many details, although I would have liked that they gave a little more basis to justify the emotions of the characters, especially Mario's, something like showing a scene of his childhood or something that forms more the bond of brothers between Mario and Luigi.
For this reason questions remained in my head..... How old is Mario? Because by his mustache I guess he is an adult between 30 and 40, and for this same reason there were some gaps in my mind because of his relationship with his parents, but I think they had to show some frustration in the character.
Otra cosa que me quedo sonando en la cabeza es que al parecer el villano estaba bien informado de todo, pero no mostraron el informador, para mí había un Traidor jeje y lamentablemente le eche la culpa a uno de los personajes que acompañan a Mario en su travesía, yo buscando culpables jeje
La película original me parece que tiene un reparto en las voces muy bueno, incluso algunos de mis amigos quedaron fascinados con el hecho de que Jack Black haga la voz de Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy la de la Princesa Peach o que Chris Pratt hace la voz de Mario, pero para mí esto no tiene ningún chiste si en el cine transmiten es el doblaje al español latino y no la hacen los mismos actores. Así que para poder vivir la verdadera emoción voy a esperar que ya se pueda ver la película en casa para escucharla en inglés.
Pero ya que toque el tema de Jack Black y su personaje Bowser, tengo que decir que el villano es una cosa de locos jejej, esperaba un villano serio, pero me dieron todo lo contrario y fue genial, amé las locuras del personaje.
Another thing that kept ringing in my head is that apparently the villain was well informed of everything, but they did not show the informer, for me there was a traitor hehe and unfortunately I blamed one of the characters that accompany Mario on his journey, me looking for culprits hehe.
The original movie seems to me to have a very good voice cast, even some of my friends were fascinated with the fact that Jack Black does the voice of Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy that of Princess Peach or that Chris Pratt does the voice of Mario, but for me this has no joke if in the cinema they transmit the Latin Spanish dubbing and not the same actors. So in order to experience the real emotion I'm going to wait until I can see the movie at home to listen to it in English.
But since I touch the subject of Jack Black and his character Bowser, I have to say that the villain is a crazy thing hehehej, I expected a serious villain, but I got the opposite and it was great, I loved the craziness of the character.
Y hablando de lo emocional, como es común en mis reseñas, tengo que confesar que ciertas cosas de las películas me llegaron de forma especial, sobre todo al comienzo, y tiene que ver con la relación de hermanos. Siento que soy muy sensible con eso porque aunque soy la hermana menor de tres hermanas, siento que soy protectora con mis hermanas y por esta razón me estremeció y movió mis emociones, pude conectarme con los personajes en este aspecto, y es genial porque creo que en el fondo eso era algo importante que deseaban transmitir en la película.
And speaking of the emotional, as is common in my reviews, I have to confess that certain things in the movies got to me in a special way, especially at the beginning, and it has to do with the sibling relationship. I feel like I'm very sensitive to that because even though I'm the youngest sister of three sisters, I feel like I'm protective of my sisters and for this reason it shook me and moved my emotions, I was able to connect with the characters in this aspect, and it's great because I think deep down that was something important that they wanted to convey in the movie.
Como palabras finales tengo que decir que la película no me impacto ni hizo estallar mi cerebro de la emoción, pero me dejó una linda sensación de lo linda que fue, creo que todos los elementos utilizados formaron una película bien lograda tanto para los niños como para los adultos, vale la pena verla y que vivas la experiencia con esta película.

As final words I have to say that the movie did not impact me or made my brain explode with emotion, but it left me with a nice feeling of how cute it was, I think all the elements used formed a well done movie for both children and adults, it is worth watching it and live the experience with this movie.

Although animated movies are not my favorite genre, I'm going to watch this one, because it gives me nostalgia to remember the game, I remember when I played it on Nintendo consoles in a place that had an Asian guy and it was always full of people playing video games. But I'm going to wait for it to be available in good quality in streaming, to watch it from the comfort of home.
Yes, the biggest attachment to this movie is usually that it reminds us of childhood and Nintendo games... it's very pretty, but it's great to see it in the comfort of home, when it's available I plan to repeat it.
