Even just learning about what happened to a movie character can expose us to their trauma, what more when someone is a victim in real life? This is why as Catholics (and even Christians) we have to pray for the conversion of those deeply "controlled" by the demons of lust. They cause damage and pain to people they abuse including those the victims interact with in the future. Thus this dirty "feeling" after watching the film must be washed away by praying for victims and perpetrators of sexual immorality.

In addition to a romantic story, Patines de Plata has a touch of humor and mischief. The scenery is a real beauty. Very well thought out costumes, period settings, the attitudes of the characters, their performances, all magnificent.

The visual aesthetics of the film is another aspect that deserves to be highlighted, I mean, it shows scenarios that look like paintings, I was fascinated by them. From the dazzling Scottish landscapes to the meticulous Victorian era details, the vibrant color palette and beautifully designed sets immerse the viewer into the quirky and surreal world of Poor Things (how many times have I written surreal already?).

The cast of this series I feel was pretty good. Nikki Rodriguez who gives life to Jackie Howard, the protagonist of this story, a 15 year old girl who is almost perfect, she is very smart, wants to go to one of the best universities, but her life is affected when she lost her family in an accident and had to move with the Walter family who has a total of 12 children. But despite this, it is a very united family, which of course is not easy to have that number of children and more because we know the behavior that can have. At the beginning it is difficult for the girl to adapt, but little by little she begins to get fond of everyone, even more so with two of these young people, since she has a connection with them and that is where the love triangle begins.

There does not need to be a specific genre of movies for nature to be treated in this way. In fact, all of this is what matters least when the professionals involved in these projects know that they are facing a scenario of maximum power, where nothing can be controlled (as usually happens inside a studio) and everything is always more vivid, because obviously is recorded in a real setting. This is truly magnificent in many ways.

The story of this film tells the life of Aza a young student who suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder and has obsessive ideas about a specific topic such as diseases and bacteria, so this disorder conditions Aza's life in a way that shows how she suffers psychologically and also in these episodes of extreme anxiety she feels the need to hurt a finger on her hand and heal it to feel the momentary relief of not having an infection in her body. What makes Aza's days more bearable are her mother who is a woman who has struggled with her since she was a child and already presented obsessive behaviors regarding cleanliness and bacteria, she also has a childhood friend named Daisy who shares all her days with Aza and who is the opposite of her, Daisy has a very particular and striking style and a funny personality, both study in the same school and despite having different personalities they share everything about them, they are almost like sisters.

We can observe that the police receive a police report as a missing person of a girl of Asian features, 12 years old, the mother alleges that after having lunch at her father's house, they return home and the girl stays home studying, the mother goes out and when she returns the girl was not in the apartment and this was not a usual behavior for her, so they knew that something bad had happened to her.

This film invites us to reflect on what we often do not give enough importance to, such as family relationships, deception and much more. Little by little, part of the story is discovered that had generated different complications and conflicts that had generated different traumas in many of the characters.

Our time in Jel's palace ends quickly because despite the rather ludicrous and seemingly pointless amount of effort that Jel put into creating his isolated palace and the fact that he is the only person on earth apparently that has fucking assault rifles, he is subjected to the demands of a nearby tribe of warlords who do not have the ability to see. A rational thing to have happen in this situation would be that he and his group of 12 or so people that occupy his fortress, which is a PRISON by the way and therefore would be very difficult to break into.... well they would just blast them with bullets or arrows before they even had the chance to get near it.

One of the main problems with this installment is that it feels like not much happens. It doesn't have the same sense of urgency and tension as the first part, despite trying to maintain the same pace. A significant portion of the film is devoted to the backstory and setup of the third act, which may leave viewers feeling short-changed.

Dave Filoni has become very important for this franchise, from "Clone Wars" to "The Mandalorian", there is no doubt that Filoni is always willing to create history within Star Wars and "Tales" is another of his creations; this time with the contribution of other directors and screenwriters, shows in six episodes the way in which the Empire influenced the lives of those who were victims of the atrocious and vile practices of personalities who were the representation of such evil. The story uses two protagonists, in two different moments of the empire, one in its imposition at the beginning of the fight between rebels and the old republic, a fight where the Jedi had not fallen completely and just the other part of the season, tells a story where the empire already exists, there is the end of the Jedi, there is the hunt by the Inquisitors led by Darth Vader; both stories at different times, but where fear, rage and hatred will cloud the mind of those who suffer from it, taking them to the dark side of the force.

I usually say that no matter how mid a plot or storyline is, good directing and epic acting can bring it all to life. Maybe the storyline of “Idea of You” had flaws but you’d barely notice it because of how well Anne Hathaway and Nicholas interpreted their roles. Their chemistry was nearly tangible, jumping delightfully out of each scene making the movie incredibly scintillating to watch. The plot in itself was not enough to get me immersed but their stellar acting did it for me.
