I thought the film was well done, and I appreciated the director's additions that emphasised the theme of regret and longing, the naivete of the young couple, their hopes and dreams conflicting with the reality of a situation they are unable to truly see until trapped in a room on their wedding night.
I hadn't heard of this film until coming across this post. But this sounds pretty appealing to me. That reflection on the complexities of life and figuring out what it is you want from it.
I can see why some poeple might find it boring, but I guess having read Mc Ewan brought a different reading to the film.
