Review of The House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths

Hello, everyone! I hope you're all doing well. Today, I watched a series on Netflix based on a friend's recommendation. It's called "House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths" and revolves around a tragic family suicide case in India. The incident involved the Chundawat family, who lived on Burari Road in Delhi, hence the name "The Burari Deaths."

The series is known for its highly realistic plot, featuring actual individuals involved in the case, such as the police, CID, investigators, family members, relatives, neighbors, and psychologists, who played a role in handling this complex suicide case. To be honest, I don't typically watch web series, but this one has completely changed my perspective. The series was released on October 8, 2021, on Netflix and has an IMDb rating of 7.4/10, although I'd personally give it a 10/10 rating. It consists of 3 episodes, each lasting between 42 to 47 minutes.

And if you want to know more about it, you can see many people have discussed it in detail on YouTube. Now give some spoiler about the main story of this series. This series explains the events of a very real suicide case in 3 episodes. When people are in danger, many educated and intelligent people also start believing in superstitions. That's exactly what happened here.

I found out from a video on YouTube that there is a disease called sehizophrina. A person suffering from this disease feels that some invisible force or person is controlling him. The main person in this suicide case in whom the disease was found was Lalit Chundawat. That is the younger son of Bhopal Singh Chundawat. After the death of Bhopal Singh Chundawat, everyone in his joint family considered Lalit Chundawat as the head of their family.

Their family consisted of 11 people. This Lalit Chundawat is an eccentric character. Many events have happened in his life. And after his father's death he suddenly started talking. Ever since this incident, puja was held every night at 9 pm. Even their neighbors used to participate in that puja.

On July 30, 2018, 11 members of the Chundawat family were found hanging in their home in Burari, Delhi, India. The family consisted of Bhopal Singh Chundawat, his wife Nirmala Devi, their son Lalit, their daughters Pratibha and Tina, and six grandchildren. On the morning of July 1, the family's neighbors were alarmed when they saw that the front door of the Chundawats' house was still locked and the curtains were still drawn. They eventually broke into the house and found all 11 members of the family hanging from the ceiling, blindfolded, and with their hands and feet tied.

The police investigation revealed that the family had been meticulously planning their deaths for some time. They had written suicide notes and had even created a timetable for their deaths. The notes expressed the family's belief that they were being guided by a spiritual force and that their deaths were necessary for them to achieve liberation.

I'll stop here because I encourage you to watch the series and explore the full details of this case. . This is a real example of how superstitions can drive people. I saw this and thought how is this possible because those who committed suicide here are all healthy, educated. How can they do it? Even more important than that, it is clear from the CC TV of the day before this incident that they are voluntarily collecting their suicide items. And the incident is not so long ago. The incident happened in 2018. How did they do this in this modern era? Yes, you can say that Asians believe in many superstitions so that you commit suicide and get your life back, you must be nothing but crazy to believe that.

Finally I am compelled to say that, in the face of such darkness, the Burari community came together to support and heal each other. They showed us that even in the darkest of times, there is always light. The Chundawat family may be gone, but their story lives on. It's a story that reminds us of the importance of mental health, the strength of family, and the resilience of the human spirit.

I hope you will watch this series and share your thoughts.

Lol there's now a mental health disease name for when someone feels they are being controlled by something? But hey the devil works the same way, whispering to people and making humans think it is their own thoughts. I'm sad to know they all lost their lives. I am wondering what their religion were or if their house were haunted or what led to such thoughts. 🤔

May they rest in peace. 🙏
