I am Pravil Sabu. I have completed my graduation in civil engineering. And I’m from the country which makes largest number of movies a year. INDIA (BOLLYWOOD).This is the first film review I had ever done. I always used to watching movies but never done a review. And I got the inspiration to do one from @maeugenia and @universoperdido. Both of them a really good at writing reviews. And I often use to read their works.
Let’s roll on to the movie.
If you are looking for a slow moving western drama, then you are at the right place. And if you are searching for a fiction or crime thrillers sorry to announce you that this is not such a one.
First cow is the movie tells the story about 2 friend lives in oregon.it is an American drama film directed by Kelly Reichardt, from a screenplay by Reichardt and Jonathan Raymond based on Raymond's novel The Half Life. Leading roles of the movie the cookie and The King-lu was played by john margaric and Orion lee.

Kelly Reichardt
Reichardt is an American film director and screenwriter. She is well known for her way of film making by focusing on working class or characters from rural communities. Wendy and lucky (2008). Meeks cutoff (2010), Night Moves (2013) these are some of her works. First cow won Best Film at the 2020 New York Film Critics Circle Awards, and was named one of the ten best films of 2020 by the National Board of Review.
SCREENPLAY
Jonathan Raymond
Raymond is an American writer who lives in Oregon. He is best known for writing the novels The Half-Life and Rain Dragon, and for writing the short stories and screenplays for the films Old Joy and Wendy and Lucy, both directed by Kelly Reichardt.
PLOT
The movie begin with the slow moving shot at a lady walking with her dog on the riverside and suddenly the dog stop walking by sniffing something. And she found 2 skeletons lying together in a shallow grave.
Then moving on to the past 1820, the cookie our leading character is a chef of a travelling group in Oregon country. They always used to harass figowitz due to the deficiency of food. At night in search of food figowitz came across king-Lu, who speaks English really well with an origin of Chinese. He is been running form russian’s for the murder he committed.
Cookie allows lu to stay one night with him and later helps to escape through the river. Time passes and after several days they reunites in a shak. Later they decided to live together in lu's house.From there conversation it’s clear that lu wish to have a farm his own and cookie needs to open a bakery in san Francisco. These two desires symbolizes the hunger and want of common man to be someone in their life. There is a clear visualization of difference between poor working class to the rich landlords throughout the movie.
Arrival of the cow.
And here the key element in the movie arrives. The first cow in the Oregon region, owned by the chief factor a wealthy English man. This character is done by famous Toby Jones. The journey of the cow to Oregon begin with her mate and calf but both of them died in the long journey. By the arrival of the cow cookie suggest to lu that he can make delicious biscuits using cow mik.so as an experiment the sneak into chief factor’s backyard and milk the cow by lu done the job of watcher in the top of a tree. After baking cookie was not satisfied with the taste even tough lu was. I claimed that honey drops can improve the taste.

From the next day they began to sell there biscuits in the market without revealing the recepie.lu said that it's a "Chinese secret". The market was in a bullish run. Even the chief factor was impressed on their biscuits. There was even long line of people to consume it. One day chief factor invite cookie to make clafoutis for upcoming meeting with local captain and Native American chief.at the meeting there was a talk about the come about her lakh of milk production even tough is a good breed, which made cookie and lu in edge. While they visit the cow, she nuzzles on cookie made some sort of thoughts on chief factor. After returning from the chiefs house cookie decided not to cook any more cookies but by the force of lu they made the last time sneaking from chief’s backyard. But unfortunately the branch snaps while lu giving cookie a signal of some on approaching which made the situation worse. The Chief Factor's man hears the noise and alerts everyone in the house, believing they are under attack. Cookie and Lu run off. The Chief Factor realizes that Cookie and Lu are stealing the cow's milk and says he intends to kill them. They ran a lot and lu jumped into a river while cookie hide behind the bushes. Cookie tries to run away after the Chief Factor's men leave but falls down a hill and sustains a head injury. He wake up in a house of a native couples.
lu hires a man to take him down stream and eventually return back to the shack, planning to retrieve the money he saved in the tree. Meanwhile cookie regain his strength and returns to the shack. They reunited at their and lu suggest to move south. While walking cookie suffer from his head injury and decided to lie down.lu lie beside him, saying that they will be safe here. But they were under the following of chief factors men. The movie ends here. And here we got the connection of two skeletons laying together.
The 122 minutes movies cinematography is done by Christopher Blauvelt and music by William Tyler .The movie tries to exhibit the struggle of working class in the frontier time and the bond of friendship between them.
