Many of us must have seen the first film Venom, which was released in 2018( An Action/ sci-fi parked movie) starring Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Reid Scott, Naomie Harris and so many others. It was a movie that told a story of Eddie, a journalist who investigates experiments of human trials and unfortunately gets merged with a symbiotic alien with lethal abilities know as ‘Venom’. Venom, a 2018 America super hero film featuring the Marvel comics character and produced by Amy Pascla, Avi Aradand Matt Tolmach.
This second Tom Hardy- Action packed film continues exactly from where the first film left off.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage(2021) is so many things which includes being a block buster comic book sequel, comedy, action packed sci-fi with a little touch of romance. Beneath all of these, the gnashing of teeth, goosebumps, it’s also something else entirely, it can be said to be a “love story”. I know you all may be wondering how? Okay, I will tell you how- I am not talking about the relationship between Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams, not even the situationship between Woody Harrelson Carnage and Naomie Harris, I am talking about Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and the symbiote that dwells in him, Venom. Surprised? I know right, Who wouldn’t be?
Since the original Venom from 2018, they may disagree with each other sometimes and even argue who is in charge, we can all agree, that they surprisingly share a genuine, emotional connection as it is quite obvious that they are better together, am I right?
This is not a spoiler!
We all know how venom is always venting out the fact that he doesn’t bust out enough, eat people and how munching on chocolates as well as chicken is unbelievable and not satisfying enough for him. Venom can be said to be the voice in Eddie’s head, the voice of Eddie’s insecurities and fears. Obviously, Venom can also pass as being Eddie’s biggest cheerleader, who encourages him to reconcile with Williams Anne who got engaged to Dr.Dan Lewis- Reid Scott.
Well I wouldn’t blame her, I also would want to be engaged with someone far more suitable, I mean who wouldn’t? It’s safe to say Venom is the “little voice inside us all”.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is not about the world ending, as it is usually the case in most comic-book movies. It is more about one man’s struggle with his own demons, literally, we can all relate. This time, the movie tells us a story of how Eddie secured an interview with convicted serial killer Cletus Kasady, because Eddie’s reporting led to his conviction, there was a physical clash between them that led to some blood shed and Cletus Kasady becoming a host to an alien symbiote through the transfer of a few drops of symbiote material.
It gets even more interesting as Cletus transforms into the Carnage, being a larger, more weaponized and fiercer version of Venom. Brock and Venom must definitely put their differences aside in order to stop him.
Definitely a major improvement from the first film! This movie is too awesome. It had a lot of action but it somehow still didn’t take over the plot. I love the relationship between Eddie and Venom and I am sure you did too. Well, I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of Venom.
