Hola a todos/Hello avid readers
Viendo las comunidades me encontré con esta iniciativa propuesta por una gran Hive entusiasta @cami.rojas que al parecer a deleitado muchos con sus posts. Al ver que otros se animaron a seguir su ejemplo decidí unirme. Una de las categorías que me hubiera gustado ver es "Película que mas me ha traumatizado", en mi caso es Tiburón. Hasta el dia de hoy no puedo ir a la playa sin que me venga a la mente la bocota del tiburón. Espero les agrade mi selección de películas.
Browsing Hive I came across a movies community and reading through the list of posts, noticed some members posting about their preferred and least preferred movies, so I decided to join in and show the movies I enjoyed.
Película favorita/Favorite film
Esta categoría es difícil ya que tengo muchas películas que he disfrutado con el pasar del tiempo – Amigos para siempre, The Farewell, Billy Elliot, Contratiempo, Dumplin', Llámame por tu nombre, Sola contra el poder, El club de los desahuciados, Las horas, Perdida, Los caballeros: criminales con clase, están en la lista de películas que me han gustado recientemente – pero la que se lleva el premio para mi es Alien - El octavo pasajero(1979).
Dirigida por Ridley Scott, es la película que puedo ver sin cansarme o aburrirme de ella, es un clásico. Las secuelas nunca tuvieron el éxito que obtuvo esta, ni siquiera Prometeo.
De las películas que mencione, cuales han visto? y que opinan de ellas?
This particular category is a difficult one, as I had throughout the years, enjoyed many well done movies – Temple Grandin, The Gentlemen, The Family Stone (favorite Christmas movie), The Haunting in Connecticut, Gone Girl, The Hours, Intouchables, Billy Elliot, The Invisible Guest, Dumplin', Call Me by Your Name, Miss Sloane, The Farewell, Dallas Buyers Club, are among the many movies I have enjoyed in the last 2 decades – but the one that will always be my number one is Alien(1979).
Director Ridley Scott created a master piece that became a classic, it can be enjoyed at any age and time. Sadly none of the sequels, or prequels meet the same fate.

Película que más me hizo llorar/Movie that made me cry the most
Creo que la película que mas me hizo llorar fue Filadelfia (1993). La actuación de Tom Hanks fue fenomenal y tan tangible que sentí todo su dolor, no fue sorpresa que ganara un Oscar.
The movie that made me cry was Philadelphia(1993). I just started to know Tom Hank, had watched Big but I was just a silly movie. In Philadelphia his acting was so intense that I could feel his pain.

Película más romántica/Most romantic movie
Sin discusión la película mas romántica es Perfume de mujer. No solo es una película de amor, es también una lección de vida. La escena de Al Pacino bailando tango esta imprimida en mi mente.
Hands down I have to say it is Scent of a Woman. The acting, the scenery, the script were all really good. It wasn't just a love story, it was a story about life. The tango scene is one I will never forget.

Peor película/Worst movie
Por aquí también tengo unas cuantas en mi lista de perdí mi tiempo y dinero/nunca jamas. El último maestro del aire, El profesor chiflado(1996), La momia(2017), El Sorprendente Hombre Araña, entre muchas otras. Pero la que se lleva el premio a peor película es Mentiroso Mentiroso. Siempre digo paso a cualquier película con Jim Carrey.
The list is long, I got many on my crap movies/wasted my money/never ever want to watch again list. The Last Airbender, The Nutty Professor(1996), The Mummy(2017), The Amazing Spider-Man, among may others. The one that gets my Razzie award is Liar Liar. I cannot stand Jim Carrey's acting.

Película que te hizo enamorar de una actriz/Movie that made you fall in love with an actress
Lejos del cielo(2002) fue la película que me hizo admirar y amar Julianne Moore. Su fineza, porte, sensualidad y presencia en la pantalla me dejaron perplejo y queriendo saber mas de ella. No hace mucho me volvió a impresionar en Siempre Alice.
This is an easy one. Far from Heaven(2002) was the movie that made me fall in love with Julianne Moore. Her presence and dedication to portraying a perfect housewife with conflicting desires reached my heart. The film is superb in it's portrayal of the segregated 50's and how rigid was society back then.

Película sorpresiva/Surprising movie
La última película que vi que me dejo verdaderamente sorprendido fue Hogar(2020). Los españoles al parecer tienen una tendencia a crear "film noir" que son películas que no tienen un final feliz. La dirección fue muy buena ya que no hay indicios de como va a terminar, Javier Gutiérrez hizo un trabajo excelente y hasta da miedo su personaje. Otra película española que también me sorprendió fue Contratiempo(2016).
One of the last films to surprise me was the Spanish film The Occupant(2020). This film falls in the "film noir" category, it's very well done and Javier Gutiérrez who portrays the lead character is scary. Another Spanish film that has an unexpected turn is The Invisible Guest(2016).

Película mejor desarrollada/Best developed film
Estoy seguro que hay muchas en esta categoría, a mi parecer la película mejor desarrollada es Avatar(2009). Le tomo muchos años a James Cameron desarrollarla, y hasta las secuelas se han visto afectadas por faltas técnicas. El mundo creado es fascinante, los detalles de la fauna y la flora, los colores que usaron, los detalles de los personajes creado. En fin eso y mucho mas me hace pensar que Avatar se merece mención en esta categoría.
La película fue controversial por el tema que toco y por usar a una persona blanca para salvar a los nativos, porque como saben en Hollywood los nativos no tienen coraje ni sesos. Notan que ninguna película toca el genocidio ocurrido en las Américas, la llegada de los europeos extermino alrededor de 90 millones de indígenas. Esto por supuesto es un tabú en los libros de historia. Les invito a ver John Leguizamo's Latin History for Morons, es en ingles pero muy educativa.
I'm strongly believe Avatar(2009) to be the best developed film out there. It took James Cameron many years to finally be able to produce the film. The world he created was beyond anyone could ever think about, the flora and fauna details are magnificent, the color hues used were simply gorgeous, the characters created felt so real. My biggest problem with the film was or course the white savior trope, which I am honestly tired of.

Mejor película infantil/Best children's movie
En esa categoría voy a escoger dos. La vida secreta de tus mascotas(2016) para niñ@s menores de 10 años y para adolescentes Cómo entrenar a tu dragón(2010). Ambas contienen algo bueno, la primera ayuda a desarrollar la imaginación para que así tratar mejor a las mascotas y la segunda tiene un gran mensaje de amistad y que aun cuando no entiendas las acciones de tus padres ellos siempre desean lo mejor para ti, y hacen lo suyo dentro de los que pueden.
I got two in this category. The Secret Life of Pets(2016) for children and How to Train Your Dragon(2010) for teenagers. Both movies got something good about them, The Secret Life of Pets helps children develop their imagination and give them a different perspective about their pets; How to Train Your Dragon is also great because it deals with grieve, lose, friendship, parent's issues.
Película más graciosa/Funniest movie
También tengo unas cuantas pero la vale la pena mencionar es Dos rubias de pelo en pecho(2002). Los hermanos Wayans son famosos por sus comedias, y esta vez se votaron. La situación es tan ridícula e improbable que es graciosa.
*Although I got a few in this category, I will go with White Chicks(2002). The Wayans brothers are hilarious, this movie is soooo campy and man the lines you get from it "It's not "just" a handbag. It's Prada!" *

Película que todos aman menos yo/Movie everyone loves but me
Francotirador(2014) dirigida por Clint Eastwood es unas de esas peliculas que no puedo tragar. El hecho de que traten de glorificar la masacre que ocurrió es algo me atrae, esa invasión de por si nunca debió de haber sucedido. Y para que entiendan a lo que hablo que me refiero les invito a ver El vicepresidente(2018)
American Sniper(2014) directed by Clint Eastwood is that movie I cannot swallow. I see it as the glorification of a war that should have never happened, and that the world was copmplicit in letting it happen. The million of inocent people killed for no good reason is unforgetable. You should watch Vice(2018) to understant the real reasons behind this war.

Este es el final para mi, disculpen lo basico de mi presentación. Aun no entiendo bien como trabajar la interface para obtener mejores efectos. Escribir esto me tomo 7 dias, ya que no le puedo decicar mucho tiempo.
Finally this is the end for me, sorry for taking so long and for the basic presentation. It took me 7 days to finish, not sure if this is my best way forward.
Hola, oye American Sniper, me voló la cabeza cuando la vi, de verdad no me puedo imaginar una situación omo ess, además ver como los soldados tienen que enfrentarse a momentos tan difíciles que realmente te pueden volver loco.
Una muy buena película. Te recomiendo por si aún no la has visto ; Lone Survivor, es genial.
La que si no me gustó fue Avatar, nunca llamó mi atención y cuando la vi me abrió muy rápido.

American Sniper fue la glorificación de un sicópata – Chris Kyle – que disfruta asesinar personas y es laureado como un héroe americano.
La película no tiene ni una pizca de conciencia de que la invasión de Estados Unidos a Iraq fue ilegal y ciertamente catastrófica para los iraquíes - el Estado Islámico ISIS una de sus consecuencias. El enfoque de American Sniper es mostrar a cada hombre, mujer e incluso niños iraquí como salvajes con la intención de asesinar a las "buenas" tropas estadounidenses y, por lo tanto, merecedoras de su destino, ya sea a través del rifle de Kyle, o bajo la bota de las tropas estadounidenses en general.
Es como los westerns donde los indígenas americanos son solo salvajes que tienen que ser eliminados, aun cuando los blancos les están robando e invadiendo su tierra ancestral.
