Good day everyone, My name is Rasheed and welcome to my blog. If you happen to love school, action, harem and eechi anime then I am here precisely for that. As a fie hard eechi fan, I have come across alot and I'm here to share my most recent one with you all.
Today we will be looking at Maken-ki. A two seasoned anime that started airing towards the end of 2011. The Romcom anime is centered on a perverted young boy Ohyama Takeru, who entered an all girl school that recently became co-ed. His dreams of living his life as a quiet high school boy doesn't go as planned when he figured out that the students of the school use magical artifacts called Maken. When activated can grant their wielders special powers and there are 8 original Maken while others use duplicates made by the school professor.
His first experience wasn't a pleasant one as he was challenged by Himegami Kodama, one of the strongest students on the first assembly. She felt a bad aura coming from him and decided to test him. At the moment he didn't know about the maken so he was frightened when faced with such power and felt like he was going to die. Another girl named Kushiya Inaho came to save him wielding one of the original 8 makens. Apparently both of made promises to each other but Takeru had forgotten.
The student council vice president Haruko is another notable character. She was so happy to reunite with her childhood friend Takeru. She loves him but he doesn't realize it because he's too dense and she doesn't make it obvious.
Inaho and Kodama moved into Takeru's room so Haruko who doesn't want anyone taking her man from her decides to move in together with the 3 of them.
Takeru is the kind of person who always cherishes women and tries to keep them from harm's way although he doesn't know how to control his power yet. He always steps in to save any lady from harms way and somehow finds a way to end up safe and unconsciously using his powers. He decided to join the student council and a few others in a club called Maken-ki where they ensure successful and fair duels amongst students and maintain order in the school.
Everything wouldn't always end up as planned as they started facing attacks from an external force that tried to take over the school in the past. They control people and make them use their Maken against their target. Numerous attacks went on which ended with the controlled victim losing their memory after being defeated by the members of the Maken-ki and Takeru couldn't help out with most of them so he decided to train himself so he could use his newly acquired Maken. It has the power to sync with another person's Maken and modify it's powers greatly.
Meanwhile Kodama wanted to clear her doubts about Takeru being a bad guy or not so she asked him out on a date. Now the other girls who were after Takeru's heart couldn't just let this slide so they decided to stalk their date. They had a nice and funny day which ended with an attack by another controlled victim. Luckily Takeru was able to unconsciously control his power and make use of her ability to save her. She gave him a kiss of thanks for saving her when the stalkers jumped out to show their surprise.
Towards the end of season 1, Takeru encountered the grand daughter of the man behind the attacks on the school when she was about to kill someone during a duel. He resisted her attack and was able to stop her with the help of other club members. She got furious and decided to take what was most precious to him (Haruko). He went in for the rescue and encountered the 2nd grand daughter who provoked him to unleash his powers which he couldn't control and he went berserk. He started absorbing all the power in the atmosphere and went berserk then a group of female assassin's rescued her from her bondage and she came to save Takeru. Hence ending the episode on a good note.
Haruko, Takeru and Inaho hastened their training so as to be strong enough to handle the battles ahead because it's definitely not over. Stay tuned for the season 2 review
In My Opinion, it's a really nice anime with alot of laughs, erotic moments and with the right amount of action. It love the character composition and for an 11 year old anime they really impressed me. I can't wait to see what season 2 has in store for us. Much like any other harem and eechi anime, there are alot of panties and breast shown so it's not for children younger than the age of 18
Conclusion
Anime gets discriminated and tagged as a show for kids especially here in Nigeria but majority of the anime are age inappropriate and offer just as much as movies would offer so let's try and diversify. I wasn't a fan of anime until the lockdown. In case you need any anime recommendations, I have alot in store for anyone who is interested.
