It is difficult for a show or a movie to hit me in such a personal way, in a way so intimate that I cannot deny tears, this show achieved it in one single season. Since I watched it I knew I had to talk about it even if I was two weeks late.

INTRODUCTION
Heartstopper is a show that consists of 8 episodes whose duration is approximately 30 minutes each. It is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name by author Alice Oseman.
The show has mainly LGBTQ+ content whose characters are all teenagers who are going through their study stages, sharing with friends, getting to know each other, falling in love, interacting with their families.
Heartstopper es una serie de Netflix que consta de 8 episodios cuya duración es de aproximadamente 30 minutos cada uno. Es una adaptación de la novela gráfica del mismo nombre de parte de la autora Alice Oseman.
La serie tiene un contenido principalmente LGBTQ+ cuyos personajes son todos adolescentes que están viviendo sus etapas de estudio, compartir con amigos, conocerse, enamorarse, interacción con sus familias.
The main characters are Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), Charlie is a very introverted, kind, sensitive, understanding boy, with problems to socialize with others except with his friends, he is good at the drums and openly gay, while Nick is different from him, he is more sociable and popular, he is kinda outgoing but not shy, he is responsible, honest, determined, empathetic, noble, a rugby player and he still has many things to figure out about himself. Both meet by chance in a high school course in which they had to share a table despite the fact that Charlie and Nick are a year apart. Their interactions were greetings, smiles, comments, they sympathized immediately. While this was going on Charlie was in a relationship with another student, Ben Hope (Sebastian Croft), who does not admit his sexuality and only had Charlie for occasional kissing encounters when he was on the mood, regardless of Charlie's feelings, Charlie also suffered a lot of abuse from several students who made fun of him for his appearance, for being nerdy and for being gay, among all this he had the support of his best friends (who also suffered abuse), a group made up of Tao Xu (William Gao) a boy with a firm character, overprotective, ironic, movie lover and very distrustful of others, Isaac Henderson (Tobie Donovan) a shy boy of few words, a lover of books but who is extremely understanding and Elle Argent (Yasmin Finney) a trans girl, intelligent, a friend who gives all her support to those she loves, who went through a lot of abuse when she studied at the Truhan institute with her friends but now she is in another one because it is for boys only while the nearby institute, Higgs, is for girls only and due to being transsexual she was transferred in there, she was very lonely with the fear of finishing the course without having any friend, but that fear was short-lived as she meets two girls, Tara Jones (Corinna Brown) and Darcy Olsson (Kizzy Edgell), who are revealed to be a couple. They quickly become friends with Elle and eventually become part of the main group. Charlie also had the love and support of her quirky but interesting older sister Tori (Jenny Walser).
Los personajes principales son Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) y Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), Charlie es un chico muy introvertido, amable, sensible, comprensivo, con problemas para socializar con otros que no sean sus amigos, es bueno en la batería y abiertamente gay, mientras que Nick es diferente a él, es más sociable y popular, es algo extrovertido pero no llega a ser tímido, es responsable, honesto, decidido, empático, noble, jugador de rugby y que aún tiene muchas cosas que descifrar de sí mismo. Ambos se conocen por casualidad en un curso del instituto en el cual les tocó compartir mesa a pesar de que Charlie y Nick se llevan un año de diferencia. Sus interacciones eran de saludos, sonrisas, comentarios, simpatizaron enseguida. Mientras esto ocurría Charlie tenía una relación con otro estudiante, Ben Hope (Sebastian Croft), el cual no admite su sexualidad y solo tenía a Charlie para ocasionales encuentros de besos cuando le provocaba, sin tomar en consideración los sentimientos de él, Charlie además llegó a sufrir de mucho abuso por parte de varios estudiantes que se burlaban de el por su aspecto, por ser nerd y por ser gay, entre todo esto contaba con el apoyo de sus mejores amigos (los cuales también llegaron a sufrir abuso), un grupo conformado por Tao Xu (William Gao) un chico con un carácter firme, sobreprotector, irónico, cinéfilo y muy desconfiado de otros, Isaac Henderson (Tobie Donovan) un chico tímido y de pocas palabras, amante de los libros pero que es sumamente comprensivo y Elle Argent (Yasmin Finney) una chica trans, inteligente, una amiga que da todo su apoyo a quienes quiere, que pasó por mucho abuso cuando estudiaba en el instituto Truhan con sus amigos pero que ahora está en otro debido a que este es para solo hombres mientras que en el instituto cercano, Higgs, es para solo mujeres y debido a ser transexual fue transferida a esa, sintiéndose muy sola ahí con el temor de terminar el curso sin haberse relacionado con nadie, pero ese temor le duró poco ya que conoce a dos chicas, Tara Jones (Corinna Brown) y Darcy Olsson (Kizzy Edgell), las cuales se revela que son pareja. Ellas rápidamente se hacen amigas de Elle y con el tiempo se integran al grupo principal. Charlie también tenía el amor y apoyo de su peculiar pero interesante hermana mayor Tori (Jenny Walser).
The series shows us at a good pace how Charlie and Nick get to know each other, how little by little they share moments, the Charlie's growth to gain more self-confidence, the way Nick allows himself to go deeper and get to know himself better. Charlie develops feelings for Nick quickly but because of the assumption that Nick is straight he tries to avoid expressing what he feels, even going so far as to join the rugby team just because Nick asks him because he saw him run, even though unbeknownst to Nick, it was that same team that was bullying Charlie and his friends in previous years. Nick begins to develop a lot of trust in Charlie, to the point of considering him his best friend and in the process of being with him, Nick discovers his bisexuality and his true feelings for Charlie, while Charlie tries as much as possible not to get so excited, his friend Tao is the one who firmly opposes that the two interacting so much for fear that Charlie will get hurt again and that the bond that existed in the group breaks since Elle is no longer in the same institute, which by the way, interacting with her new friends has given her support and the friendship that she needed, they even support her about the feelings she was developing for someone (I won't say anything to avoid giving spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet). It is a love story, it is true, but it is also a story of finding oneself, accepting oneself, of living.
La serie nos va mostrando a un buen ritmo como Charlie y Nick van conociéndose, como poco a poco van compartiendo momentos, el crecimiento de Charlie para ganar más confianza en sí mismo, la manera en como Nick se permite adentrarse y conocerse más. Charlie desarrolla sentimientos por Nick rápidamente pero por la suposición de que Nick es heterosexual trata de evitar expresar lo que siente, llega a incluso a unirse al equipo de rugby solo porque Nick se lo pide al verlo correr aun cuando a desconocimiento de Nick, fue ese mismo equipo el que le hacía bullying a Charlie y sus amigos en años anteriores. Nick empieza a desarrollar mucha confianza en Charlie, al punto de considerarlo su mejor amigo y en el proceso de estar con él, Nick va descubriendo su bisexualidad y sus verdaderos sentimientos por Charlie, mientras que Charlie trata en lo posible de no ilusionarse tanto, su amigo Tao es el que firmemente se opone a que ambos interactúen tanto por temor a que Charlie salga herido a perder el vínculo que existía en el grupo ya que Elle ya no está en el mismo instituto, que por cierto, el interactuar con sus nuevas amigas le ha brindado apoyo y la amistad que necesitaba, ellas incluso la apoyan sobre los sentimientos que estaba desarrollando por alguien (no diré nada para evitar dar spoilers para quien no la ha visto aún). Es una historia de amor, es verdad, pero también es una historia de encontrarse consigo mismo, aceptarse, de vivir.
- First is how well written and organized the story is, they don't show us something rushed, in fact the idea of something that is being built little by little, with patience and with all the intention of making it work is clearly seen. They show us not only the main couple, but other stories as well and they are also perfectly written and not because they were the secondary characters they were left behind, no, they have relevance and the impact they have on the characters is felt. Despite being only 8 episodes long and 30 minutes long, the story is very well established and there is no feeling of emptiness.
- Primero es lo bien escrita y organizada que está la historia, no nos muestran algo apresurado, de hecho se ve claramente la idea de algo que se está construyendo poco a poco, con paciencia y con toda la intención de hacerlo funcionar. Nos muestran no solo a la pareja principal, sino a otras historias también y también están perfectamente escritas y no por el hecho de ser los personajes secundarios fueron dejados atrás, no, tienen relevancia y se les siente el impacto que tienen para los personajes. A pesar de ser solo 8 episodios y con 30 minutos de duración, la historia está muy bien establecida y no hay una sensación de vacíos.
- The use of animation and visual effects to show positive and negative emotions and feelings was a nice touch, at first when I saw the trailer I thought that it made it look more childish, but no, in fact it helps a lot to show what are they feeling and thinking and in fact even what ourselves have felt in situations like that. There was also a lot of detail with the scenes that at first glance are overlooked, but when you watch the series more than once (like me) you notice that even the props that are usually ignored have their reason for being.
- El uso de animación y efectos especiales para mostrar las emociones positivas, negativas y los sentimientos fue un buen toque, al inicio cuando vi el tráiler pensé que eso le hacía ver más infantil, pero no, de hecho ayuda bastante a expresar lo que sienten y piensan y lo que de hecho nosotros mismos hemos sentido en situaciones así. - The performances of the entire cast is incredible, they all lived their characters and made them their own. I understand that during the casting they were very demanding with respect to authenticity, to the point that they looked for an Asian who met the characteristics of Tao's character to be able to represent him, but the author gave everyone the freedom to adapt the characters as they feel better.
- Las actuaciones de todo el elenco es increíble, todos vivieron sus personajes y los hicieron suyos. Tengo entendido que durante el casting fueron muy exigentes con respecto a lo auténtico, al punto de que buscaron a un asiático que cumplieras las características del personaje de Tao para poder representarlo, pero la autora les dio libertad a todos de que adaptaran a los personajes como se les hiciera mejor.
- The lack of sexualization, I can firmly say that it is one of the best points that the series had, do not get me wrong, it is not that I am against a little spice in a show, but it was simply not necessary here, this series did not need sex to sell. They showed us a story based on feelings and the emotional intimacy that has.

- The sentimental detail was sublime, in each episode it can be seen how the infatuation was growing, how both developed strong feelings and how the bond became so close that it was impossible to hide. The moments when Charlie saw Nick from afar, his shy greetings along with Nick's confident greetings, the moments when Nick wanted to touch his hand but didn't dare, that way they emphasize the beauty of wanting to touch no matter what at least a finger of the person you like and eventually you will love, appreciating the photos that are taken and smiling when you see them, being interested in that person's hobbies even if you don't know anything about it like when Nick tried to learn to play drums and especially Charlie joining the Rugby team. The importance of hugs, the warmth of resting one's forehead on another's shoulder, meaningful gifts, valuing knowing one another's friends and family. The impact of a kiss, is not the first kiss that they give someone, but if it is the kiss that occurs with the person you like. Compassion and understanding, affective responsibility, sincerity, the weight of trust. Even the stress and anxiety of seeing that the other person has not responded to your messages. Everything was very well put together and shown, a beautiful insight into what this process of falling in love consists of, which empathizes very well with our own stories of youth (for those of us who are already adults) and with which the youngest can see represented.
- El detalle sentimental fue sublime, en cada capítulo se aprecia como el enamoramiento iba creciendo, como ambos desarrollaban sentimientos fuertes y como el vínculo se hacía tan estrecho que era imposible de ocultar. Los momentos en que Charlie veía a Nick de lejos, los saludos tímidos de él junto a los saludos seguros de Nick, los momentos en que Nick deseaba tocar su mano pero no se atrevía, esa forma en como enfatizan lo hermoso de querer tocar así sea un dedo a la persona que te gusta y has llegado a querer, el apreciar las fotos que se toman y sonreír al verlas, interesarse en los gustos de esa persona así no sepas nada de ello como cuando Nick intentó aprender a tocar batería y sobretodo Charlie uniéndose al equipo de Rugby. La importancia de los abrazos, la calidez de reposar la frente en el hombro del otro, los regalos significativos, valorar el conocer a los amigos del otro y a la familia. El impacto de un beso así no sea el primer beso que le dan a alguien, pero si es el beso que se da con la persona que te gusta. La compasión y la comprensión, la responsabilidad afectiva, la sinceridad, el peso de la confianza. Incluso el estrés y ansiedad al ver que la otra persona no ha respondido tus mensajes. Todo fue muy bien armado y mostrado, un insight hermoso de lo que consiste ese proceso de enamoramiento que empatiza muy bien con nuestras propias historias de juventud (para los que ya somos adultos) y con la que los más jóvenes pueden ver representado.
- I think it's the best series that has handled the issue of inclusion, of course, it's a series with gay romance, of course they handle that well, but I'm not just talking about that, we have to take into account that there are more characters represented there. Elle being the main example, she is a trans character but although that is made clear in the series, her story and her reason for being is not being it, it is what she is as a person, what she contributes, the her feelings and personality. There is the case of Tara who is a girl of color but it never was something to highlight, it was not the theme of her character, she is herself and with a great story and charisma. There is even no mention that Tao is obviously Asian, the only thing that can be assumed is that the group was bullied for those reasons but their role in the series is not that. How many series and movies do not convey a message of inclusion but do so in such a forced way that it even seems that it is more out of commitment than for the fact of truly understanding the importance of this, they do not make it clear that inclusion is precisely to make clear the normality and equality that we all have as people regardless of race, genre, sexual orientation. So yes, this series handles this part very well.
- Creo que es la mejor serie que ha manejado el tema de la inclusión, claro, es una serie con romance gay, por supuesto eso lo manejan bien, pero no hablo solo de eso, sino que hay que tomar en cuenta que hay más personajes representados ahí. Elle siendo el ejemplo principal, es un personaje trans pero aunque en la serie se deja en claro eso, su historia y razón de ser no es el serlo es lo que ella es como persona, lo que aporta, sus sentimientos y personalidad. Está el caso de Tara la cual es una chica de color pero en ningún momento esto fue algo a destacar, no fue el tema de su personaje, ella es ella y con una historia y carisma geniales. Incluso ni se hace mención de que Tao es evidentemente asiático, lo único que se puede asumir es que el grupo recibió bullying por esas razones pero su rol en la serie no es ese. Cuantas series y películas no transmiten un mensaje de inclusión pero lo hacen de una manera tan forzada que hasta parece que es más por compromiso que por el hecho de entender verdaderamente la importancia de esto, no dejan en claro que inclusión es precisamente dejar en claro la normalidad e igualdad que todos tenemos como personas sin importar raza, sexo, orientación sexual. Así que si, esta serie maneja muy bien esta parte.
- Since I mentioned bullying I will talk about it, here they show us the typical primitive bullies, after all, no matter how modern our times are, this kind of people still exist and the series may have a lot of love but ignoring this would already be falling into the fantasy genre. - Ya que mencioné al bullying hablaré de eso, acá nos muestran a los típicos bullies primitivos, después de todo por muy modernos que sean nuestros tiempos aún existen esta clase de personas y la serie podrá tener mucho amor pero ignorar esto ya sería caer en el género de fantasía. Sí, hay personajes despreciables que le hacen la vida algo difícil a Charlie y a sus amigos también. Pero como grupo tratan de protegerse ente si. Lo bueno es que poco a poco este tema lo van manejando muy bien, el mensaje es claro y contundente con respecto a la posición psicológica de estas personas y el cómo usan diversos factores para expresar su odio, definitivamente aún hay mucho que trabajar con el tema del acoso escolar.
- The adult figures are to be applauded, first I want to highlight the art teacher Mr. Ajayi (Fisayo Akinade) who is openly gay and is the one who mainly supported Charlie, he was the only one with whom Charlie could talk and feel a total understanding, it gave him refuge in the classroom during lunches and when he suffered from severe bullying. The high school coach, Singh, she never judged Charlie because of his sexual orientation. The family is another important point, Charlie's mother shows him support but it is his sister and especially his father who caught my attention the most because they see the affection they have for him in a very special way, in Nick's case we have his mother, who is very open to listening and talking with her son. There are no absent fathers as far as I can see, and that struck me as an important point.
- Las figuras adultas son de aplaudir, primero quiero destacar al profesor de arte Mr. Ajayi (Fisayo Akinade) el cual es abiertamente gay y es quien principalmente le daba apoyo a Charlie, era el único con el que Charlie podía hablar y sentir una total comprensión, este le daba refugio en el salón durante los almuerzos y cuando sufría de severo bullying. La entrenadora del instituto, Singh, ella nunca juzgó a Charlie por su orientación sexual. La familia es otro punto importante, la madre de Charlie le muestra apoyo pero es la hermana y en especial su padre los que más me llamaron la atención por verse de una manera muy especial el afecto que le tienen, en el caso de Nick tenemos a su madre la cual se le ve muy abierta a escuchar y conversar con su hijo. No hay padres ausentes en lo que se puede ver, y eso me pareció un punto importante.
- The process of sexual discovery, in the series we see that Charlie had already been out of the closet for a year but he was sure of being gay for many years before, obviously we have Elle and the Tara and Darcy's relationship which are shown as a stable relationship from the beginning and show their coming out as a couple. But the point that stood out the most was Nick and his process of discovering his bisexuality, investigating, crying, not hating it but embracing that fact and accepting it with the support of Charlie, the healthy way they represent bisexuality is spectacular, you don't see as doubts or a simple sexual whim, the genuineness of the matter is seen.
- El proceso de descubrimiento sexual, en la serie vemos que Charlie ya llevaba un año fuera del closet pero estaba seguro de ser gay desde muchos años antes, obviamente tenemos a Elle y la relación de Tara y Darcy las cuales se muestran como una relación estable desde el inicio y muestran su salida del closet como pareja. Pero el punto que más se destacó fue Nick y su proceso de descubrir su bisexualidad, investigar, llorar, no odiarlo pero si abrazar ese hecho y aceptarlo con el apoyo de Charlie, la manera tan saludable como representan la bisexualidad es espectacular, no se ve como dudas o un simple capricho sexual, se ve lo genuino del asunto.
- Regarding what I felt, I'm not going to lie, I cried a lot, in many scenes throughout the series I felt identified and at the same time I felt nostalgic because it is not easy to see in such a beautiful and healthy way what one always wanted to live, not that it bothered me, I was actually happy to see all that but it was difficult. From scenes as common as when Charlie and his friends got together to play Monopoly at his house to going out for milkshakes affected me, I, who had a difficult adolescence due to anxiety and social phobia could not go out to live that kind of things and I wanted it, and at that time talking about anxiety was like a taboo so my friends didn't know about it. Also the way Charlie could rely on friends who were straight to talk about how he feels and how in love he was with another boy hurt me, those are things that felt like couldn't talk about, it's not easy to see as your straight friends or classmates could comfortably talk about what they feel for someone else and one must be quiet and to not feel that same freedom. The hugs, kisses, details of a first love that should not be so hidden, being able to smile and hold hands without thinking that you were wrong, that allowing yourself to feel that is a sin. I felt a pressure in my chest in the scenes of Charlie with his father, when he drove him to parties and meetings, and his father, being aware of what Charlie had gone through, only told him to call him immediately to pick him up. That way in which he is seen as someone that you can open up to talk and be listened to about your feelings, seeing a father being so sensitive and at the same time respecting his son's decisions (yes, it's a very personal tone on my part, but sincerity above all else). In the last episode I cried a lot, my emotions overflowed before two specific scenes, words that I always wanted to hear at that time of my adolescence. I was happy watching it even if I cried.
- Con respecto a lo que sentí, no voy a mentir, si lloré y mucho, en muchas escenas a lo largo de la serie me sentí identificado y a la vez sentía una añoranza porque no es fácil ver de una manera tan bonita y sana lo que uno siempre deseó vivir, no es que me molestara, estaba de hecho feliz de ver todo eso pero si fue difícil. Desde escenas tan comunes como cuando Charlie y sus amigos se reunieron a jugar Monopolio en su casa hasta el salir a tomar malteadas me afectaban, yo que tuve una adolescencia difícil por la ansiedad y la fobia social no podía salir a compartir de esa forma por mucho que lo deseaba y en aquel momento hablar de ansiedad era como un tabú por lo que mis amigos no lo sabían. También esa forma en que Charlie podía contar con amigos que eran heterosexuales para hablar de cómo se siente y de lo enamorado que estaba de otro hombre me dolió, esas son cosas que no podía hablar, no es fácil ver como tus amigos o compañeros de clase heterosexuales podían cómodamente hablar de lo que sienten por alguien más y uno deba callar tanto y no sentir esa misma libertad. Los abrazos, besos, detalles de un primer amor que no debe ser tan oculto, poder sonreír y tomar de manos sin pensar que estabas mal, que permitirte sentir eso es un pecado. Sentí una presión en el pecho en las escenas de Charlie con su padre, cuando este le llevaba a fiestas, reuniones y su padre estando consciente de lo que Charlie había pasado solo le decía que lo llamara inmediatamente para buscarlo, esa manera en que se le ve como alguien con quien puedes abrirte para hablar y ser escuchado sobre tus sentimientos, el ver un papá siendo tan sensible y a la vez respetando las decisiones de su hijo (si, es un tono algo muy personal de mi parte pero la sinceridad ante todo). En el último episodio lloré bastante, mis emociones se desbordaron ante dos escenas en específico, palabras que siempre hubiese deseado escuchar en aquel momento de mi adolescencia. Fui feliz viéndolo, aun cuando lloré.
- Heartstopper is a series that is not only for LGBTQ+ people to watch, it is a series to be seen and appreciated by all, it is a series that teaches us about love, tolerance, acceptance, support, friendship. I am truly happy that this series exists and that this new generation of teenagers have it to help and identify with, to feel the strength and support that many of us did not have. I am happy that this is proof that there is a breakthrough despite the great intolerance that still exists. It is a series that gives us the good and responsible love that we always want. Also that gives trans people a way to see that they can be happy with such a positive message from Elle, that there are people who can support you and accept and above all love you the way you are, that there is no race or color that prevents you from being able to smile and be happy with the person you love, nor does it imply being someone to be marginalized, we are all people. This series impacts each person differently, I hope everyone enjoys it and everyone gives themselves the luxury of smiling and letting their emotions flow.
Also, a lot o people says that they want a Nick in their lives, but instead we should all try to learn how to be that way and also embrace the soft and warm soul of Charlie
- Heartstopper es una serie que no solo es para que la vean las personas LGBTQ+, es una serie para ser vista y apreciada por todos, es una serie que nos enseña sobre el amor, tolerancia, aceptación, apoyo, amistad. Estoy verdaderamente feliz que esta serie exista y que esta nueva generación de adolescentes la tengan para ayudarse e identificarse, de sentir la fuerza y el apoyo que muchos no tuvimos. Estoy feliz de que esto sea la prueba de que si hay un gran avance a pesar de la gran intolerancia que aún existe. Es una serie que nos da el amor bueno y responsable que siempre deseamos, también que le da a las personas trans una manera de ver que si se puede ser felices con un mensaje tan positivo de parte de Elle, si hay personas que te pueden apoyar y aceptar y sobretodo amar, que no hay raza ni color que impida que puedas sonreír y ser feliz con quien amas, ni que implica ser alguien a marginar, todos somos personas. Esta serie impacta a cada persona de manera diferente, espero todos la disfruten y todos se den el lujo de sonreír y dejar que sus emociones fluyan.
Muchas personas dicen que quieren un Nick en sus vidas, pero todos deberíamos intentar de aprender de ahí y también de abrazar la cálida alma de Charlie.
Esta fue una serie que de verdad me gusto muchísimo, apoyo y soy parte de esta comunidad. Amé mucho todas las escenas y en mayoría a los personajes, y espero que próximamente allá otra temporada.
Es hermosa y superó todas mis expectativas, y me imagino que si anunciaran otra temporada ya que hay material suficiente en las novelas gráficas para ello. Es una serie realmente para recomendar y espero empiecen a salir mas de este estilo.

¡Saludos! Es muy buena, algo que me fascina es que cada persona vive el impacto de manera diferente, si la llegas a ver me encantaría leer tu opinión sobre ello. Y pues con respecto a lo de mi Twitter, lo consideré anoche pero ando pensando en hacerme otra cuenta para separar lo personal y ocio de lo que es trabajo, información, etc, puede que lo haga hoy. Claro eso significa hacer cambios en mi banner e información de perfil ¿Consideras que con Twitter si se puede llegar a un mayor alcance con las personas?
Yo te sugiero seguir usando el mismo Twitter. Si, obtienes mayor visualización, la comunidad de hive es muy activa en Twitter y además estás dejando de ganar tokens.

Anotado a mi lista de pendientes, lo he evitado hasta saber que era buena, pero me alegra que no abuse de sus elementos y que de verdad parezca un buen filme de romance sin rayar lo absurdo :)
