Últimamente he visto mucho anime porque me gustan mucho, en especial los que son cortos (entre 10 y 25 capítulos) y que son capaces de hacerme emocionar. En este caso, traigo un anime de terror y suspenso de hace una década atrás. Another, que con tan solo 13 capítulos, te erizará la piel capítulo tras capítulo y te mantendrá al borde del asiento de principio a fin mientras se desvela el gran misterio de la Clase 3. ¿Te animas a verlo? Si no te queda claro, trataré de convencerte.

Works y tiene 12 capítulos (oficialmente son 13, porque sacaron un OVA, el capítulo 00, dos meses después) emitidos en Japón entre enero y marzo del 2012. Seremos testigos de como en en la escuela Yomiyama del norte, específicamente en la Clase C de noveno, cosas misteriosas suceden sin razón aparente.

Los personajes principales son Sakakibara Koichi, un joven de Tokyo que fue trasladado a Yomiyama a quedarse con sus abuelos y una tía porque su padre está de viaje de trabajo y su mamá falleció al darle a luz. Entra en la escuela Yomiyama del norte y le toca la Clase C, donde se hará muy amigo de Misaki Mei, una chica con un parche en el ojo izquierdo que se podría juzgar de introvertida porque no habla con nadie, todos parecen ignorarla y ella está bien con eso. Sakakibara entabla amistad con muchos compañeros de la clase, pero eventos extraños no tardarán en aparecer después de su llegada tardía a clases, ya que estuvo hospitalizado a inicios del curso.
The main characters are Sakakibara Koichi, a young man from Tokyo who was transferred to Yomiyama to stay with his grandparents and an aunt because his father is on a business trip and his mother died giving birth to him. Este anime me encantó, y cuando vi el 2do capítulo el sábado tuve un flashback a mucho tiempo atrás, quizás en el 2014, porque ya lo había visto. A pesar de tener una temática colegial, no es el típico anime donde las alumnas tienen senos o traseros extravagantes y actitudes muy sexualizadas. Aquí vas a ver sangre, terror, vas a vivir suspenso y te vas a sentir un detective tratando de descubrir qué sucede en la clase C de noveno grado y por qué. Algunos estudiantes dicen que es una maldición que proviene de la clase C de 1972 donde un alumno murió
y sus compañeros hicieron como que aún vivía; otros dicen que lo que sucede es casualidad, ¿quién tiene la razón? ¿realmente existen las maldiciones?

La trama es muy buena, te hace pensar mucho y te mantiene en constante tensión y estado alerta a cualquier detalle que pueda sugerirte qué está sucediendo. Los alumnos tienen 15 años en su mayoría, pero se ven muy maduros mentalmente y muchos tienen metas claras para su futuro, algunos quieren ser artistas, otros empresarios, otros deportistas... Pero al final, todos desean lo mismo: mantenerse y mantener a sus familiares vivos.

Sangre no faltará, situaciones graciosas menos. Creo que le faltó un poquito del tema de amor, quizás si al final hacían un poco más evidente uno o dos enamoramientos entre los compañeros, le daba más sazón al asunto. Reitero lo que dije al inicio del post, este anime te mantendrá en el borde de tu asiento y cuando la trama se vaya desenmarañando y obtengas una vista clara de lo que sucede, vas a sentir que todo cuadra y pensarás ¿cómo no me di cuenta antes?
Blood will not be missing, funny situations less. I think it lacked a little bit of the theme of love, perhaps if in the end they made one or two infatuations between the companions a little more evident, it would give the matter more spice. Por último y no menos importante, hay varios giros en la trama que son precisamente los que te harán agarrarle mucho cariño a varios personajes, lo cual es un gran error. No se encariñen de nadie, quien creó la novela ligera se tomó muy en serio el dicho de que nadie es imprescindible y bueno, ya ustedes sacarán cuentas jajaja.
Last but not least, there are several plot twists that are precisely the ones that will make you fall in love with various characters, which is a big mistake. Les recomiendo este anime 100%. Es corto, muy bueno, entretenido, y aunque no veas mucho anime, creo que vale la pena darle un vistazo por las situaciones oscuras y dramáticas que muestra, es mejor que muchas películas recientes de horror, y con eso te digo todo. A mi parecer, es una joya del anime y un "must see" para los fanáticos del genero y para los que no, también.
I recommend this anime 100%. It's short, very good, entertaining, and even if you don't watch much anime, I think it's worth a look because of the dark and dramatic situations it shows, it's better than many recent horror movies, and with that I tell you everything. In my opinion, it is an anime gem and a "must see" for fans of the genre and for those who don't, too.

Creo que esta es la primera vez que veo a otra persona en Hive escribir sobre Another. Tuve la suerte de descubrir este anime hace algunos años y me dejó tan sorprendido, que fue una de las razones por las que me hice fan del género. Nunca había experimentado tanto suspenso de forma animada, y la experiencia fue buenísima. Comparto todo lo que dices sobre la serie, y honestamente pienso que merece mucha más popularidad de la que tiene.
Otros animes oscuros que te puedo recomendar son Serial Experiments Lain, Paranoia Agent, y recientemente vi una buena aunque no muy oscura llamada ID Invaded. Y si te llama la atención el género de drama con fantasía, las producciones de Makoto Shinkai son espectaculares.
Tienes toda la razón, este anime merece mucha más popularidad y reconocimiento de la que tiene.
Vale, le echaré un ojo a las recomendaciones e incluso ayer leí que Erased, del 2016, también es muy bueno y es un thriller con ciencia ficción. Y lo mejor, es un anime corto jajaja, ayuda a pasar los días entre los caps de Shingeki y Kimetsu.
