RE: 'X-Men: The Animated Series (1992)' First Impressions: This is pretty fun so far

Part of the fun of hand drawn animation is quite often having tweeners be completely different people from keyframers and everyone trying very hard to draw in the same style and some being better at tweening than others XD

I have a personal preference for a computer to tween as it's so much easier to tweak/fix problems but hand drawn is so quirky and cute I love it even though I will generally try to avoid ever doing it again

I remember enjoying this series when I was a kid but also being a bit salty because there was never enough Gambit (still my favourite) XD though it could also be because I didn't watch a whole lot of it, where I was growing up we had extremely limited tv channel options so my grandmother would record them for us and either post the video tapes or bring them with her when she flew in to visit.

I vaguely remember also being mildly confused by this series and a couple of others I was watching at the time as I think by the time I got around to it I was much more interested in more serious storylines and I feel like there were so many things which could have been explored more/done better but it was perhaps restricted by budget (not really a thing I was aware of at the time), time (20mins is a decent length animation but also not that long) or target audience (still mainly kids despite the attempt at seriousness). Seems like my annoyance spot is your sweet spot XD

Yeah there's something slightly uncanny about how some hand drawn animation can look. Not all, but some. But in a way I kinda like it in some ways.

20mins is a decent length animation but also not that long

I really do like it, I love shorter things these days. More episodes with 24 min runtimes. There are so many shows and films that I find a bit of interest in, then look up the runtime and just can't find the time for it. Even for films that are at two hours. Also shows with hour long episodes feel more like a chore at this point.
