Hello friends of Movies & TV Shows, I hope you are very well, enjoying a good cinema, today I want to review the film of Ludwig van Beethoven created by Netflix in 2020 and I saw several months ago, is of the genre drama and history so it is not a story so attached to the real facts so we can not say that it is biographical, but it is a film that serves to learn about the life of this person who is so important in the world of music.

Ludwig van Beethoven was a composer, concert pianist, musician and pianist in his speciality, conductor and, of course, teacher with an extensive musical legacy in the genre of piano and chamber music, I will not give you more details because I am not an expert on the subject. The film begins with a boy of 8 years old, who likes the piano and who presents abilities in this instrument something that his father could observe and began to compare him with another great musician of similar epoch the famous Mozart pressing the boy to be at the height of this gentleman, he reached the popularity in the adolescence and was in the adult age where he finds the fame, but with many debts that do not allow him to enjoy a good fortune, from young was losing the hearing, he died to an age that nowadays would be considered young.

Plot

Ludwig van Beethoven was a happy child, with a loving mother, younger siblings and a father who was present only when he was pressured to excel in music, but because he loved music, he was unaffected by the pressure exerted by his father. His father began to have alcohol problems, losing his job, and then decided to support the family on the income from the private party gigs he got for Ludwig, abusing him to the extreme.

As Ludwig grew up, he became extremely perfectionist and ambitious, wanting to achieve what his father longed for: to be on the same level or higher than Mozart, becoming a withdrawn, bitter and somewhat stubborn young man. Accustomed to work, he decided to give lessons to children and young people, and it is there when he fell in love with a young woman of high class, being reciprocated, however, due to his social inequality this love was frustrated, since her family was not willing to allow this link, although he was already making a reputation as a musician, but he lacked the money and the class, due to this failure he became more passionate about the piano trying to forget the sorrows.

From a young age he experienced difficult moments such as the loss of his mother, his father's alcoholism, the responsibility of carrying his siblings and paying his father's debts. He got to know Mozart, but the admiration he felt for him faded as he got to know the person he was and not the musician, the years went by, he grew older and apparently did not fall in love again. In the last stage of his life, he was completely deaf and lived in the house of one of his brothers, causing problems of coexistence due to his arrogant and unbearable character. He was so difficult that he provoked a suicide attempt by his right-hand man, a nephew who accompanied him everywhere he went.

Argumento

Opinion

The film made me feel sorry for his story, I am not sure that he was a happy person in his maturity according to what I saw, so much effort and dedication did not give him the security and peace he deserved. He will always be remembered for his compositions and symphonies. The whole production was up to standard in costumes, make-up and atmosphere; the main performances were full of passion and intensity. The only negative thing I could mention is that in some scenes the pace was slow, boring me a little.

This movie has been recommended to me a couple of times, I think I'm finally going to see it. What a pity that such incredible beings suffer so much and do not live as they deserve. Greetings

It's the first one I've seen of him, I think they lacked some drama related to his deafness because it must have been terrible to live with that condition being a great musician.

They are still showing it, don't forget to watch it, a big hug. 🤗 @musicandreview

oh wow! I wonder why it didn't really come into my recommendation. I'd love watching this and how his life unfolds. I mean, he is the greatest composer in our lifetime.

😆 yes, and the best of all is that there are also parts where Mozart appears. They were not so many years apart. It was a great time for music.
