If there's any Nigerian actress I really like so much and look forward to seeing on screen it , has to be Bimbo Ademoye.
I really liked her when I saw her in one of the most amazing movies Sugar Rush , and since then everything she stars in I look forward to watching it. You can never miss her comic side in any movie.
Well she started hosting a comedy show call Therapy Sexion, but then it was a whole lot of laughter on it's own.
Then she switched to producing movies, well you can't be stagnant on a particular thing for too long your audience starts to get bored .
Now she some movies and I got to see one of them, and I didn't like the ending , well yes she was amazing but I think because I was used to seeing her in a particular kind of way made me expect more , first film she produced was great but the genre Tragedy, it made me tear up a little too.
Just didn't expect the twist , and the fast forward to looking to for something to watch during Christmas and I found the new movie she made titled Home Coming.
Well Home Coming to me is associated with mostly a celebrity or an important person coming to there home town after a long time and have made multiple victorious shots.
The Movie shows the life of a young woman in her late twenties who live with her blind grand father after losing her parents to a fire accident.
She becomes everything to her grandfather and he becomes everything to her , well yes he still had on surviving child known as Aunty Lara.
But her Grandfather basically raised her so they've been the closest to each other.
Well the realities of life starts to set in and she starts to go Job hunting trying to look for a Job the Treacherous Lagos City, that doesn't have mercy on it residants. Lagos is a hard place and also a great place but you can only truly understand it when you're in the city. The traffic along can take away your peace of mind and happiness.
Her name is Dekolola, a Yoruba name.
Deko starts job hunting at different locations almost everyday and doesn't get the job,but out of sadness and all she doesn't return home instead goes over to her friends place and almost got ran over by a car , the driver steps down to apologize to her and all the formalities but she's already too tired and frustrated to care about the handsome stranger.
She goes over to her friend to complain about the delema she's still in and her darling friend consoles her and even offer her money for her grandpas medical bills. But Deko refuses the offer as her friend has already done to much for her.
Her friend gives her an advice telling her if you must get the job you'll have to learn to not play by the rules .
Deko then goes for her next job interview which turned out to be a completely different position for what she originally wanted to apply as .
She got the job after all the crookedness and ends up catching the attention of a very bitchy boss whom she saves twice professionally.
After wards she still has to face the mean little Vivian , who is the PA and side kick of her new boss.
I have for one worked under a very mean boss it's not something I wish for anyone, life can be Hell if you every get hired by someone who doesn't see anyone else but themselves .
Table turns and Her Boss get to be the one who needed a Home Coming, but then the boss doesn't really care about family and all and decided that they all make a business trip , but would be staying at the family house in Abuja.
While they all get parked and are already at the airport the boss notices that her bags for shoes are missing becomes really annoyed Mean Vivian blames it on Deko and Deko has to go back home amdist Lagos Traffic , missing her flight and getting to use a bus for the 8 hours trip. She Mets the handsome stranger again who offered her one of his tickets to go on the journey to Abuja as there would be no more bus tickets till the following day afternoon.
The talk gist about a lot and catch up on work and personal like.
Unknown to her Handsome stranger is the brother to Deko's Boss and so they meet again at the apartment. Well the whole mean party continues but the mother of her Boss continues to save Deko for her mean daughter Uduka.
Vivian still finds her ways to make Deko more frustrated and sad , but she gets saved.
Also a work emergency happened in Lagos and someone had to go back Vivian been a mean girl appoints Deko again to go back to Lagos , Luther , Uduka's brother speaks to their mother about the situation and Deko was relieved of that work load.
But sadly Deko's Grand father's health continues to pose a huge challenge as he continues to have Memory loss and could pass out anywhere in the house, back in Lagos leaving Deko so worried.
The Family starts to have Dinner on Christmas Even and they all starts to quarrel , Deko tries to percify Udauka her boss , who lashes out at her for meddling in her family business. Deko also gets a call that her grandfather is dead making Christmas day a sad day for her .
She continues to work for Uduak who, wasn't even bothered about the means things she said to Deko. Well the Mother and Udaka's brother Luther notices something off about Deko , who shares the bad news with them and they all sympathize with her except Udauka who still acts like a witch. Well Udaka confronts Deko about hearing that she lost her grandfather for other people instead of Deko herself, she arrogantly give Deko a paid leave, but well as we would say in Nigeria Proverbs "Water don Pass Garri", which means things have gotten out of control. Deko lashes out at her boss and quits her job and went back to Lagos , well Luther wasn't too pleased and his mum gave him a nudge to go after his Love .
Uduak and her family reunites and enjoys the rest of Christmas , and they both head back to Lagos to continue there business.
Luther employs Deko as his company's Accountant which was Deko's dream job and also consoled her during her time of grieve.
Uduaka misses Deko's resourcefulness but can't hire her back as Deko has gotten a better offer.
All is fair in Love and Work , LOL.
