Donnie Darko (2001)

After avoiding an accident that would have caused his death, the young Donnie suffers from hallucinations that make him question his reality, and while his psychotherapist thinks that it may be a case of schizophrenia, he plays with the possibility of time travels and alternative universes.

Why recommend this movie? Simply because it forces the viewer to think, and makes each viewer have their own perspective on the story. It also has a great cast: Jake Gyllenhaal, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Patrick Swayze, Jena Malone and Drew Barrymore.

Django Unchained (2012)

The action takes place in Texas, two years before the Civil War begins, where Dr. King Schultz, a dentist and bounty hunter, frees Django from his slavery with the intention that he will help him find the Brittle brothers, the most wanted criminals in the south and old oppressors of Django, who have great rewards on their heads.

Reasons to watch this movie? The excellent direction and script by Quentin Tarantino, the fantastic photography by Robert Richardson, an amazing soundtrack and very good performances by Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio, who is not a hero this time. This is a great western that you should not miss.

Dunkirk (2017)

In 1940, during the Second World War, British and French soldiers wait to be evacuated on the beaches of Dunkirk after the conquest of France by the German army, which has them surrounded. While an intense battle is being waged in the air, despair rules the land and the sea.

A wonderful film by Christopher Nolan that maintains its intensity throughout its extension, involving civilians and soldiers, the British and the French, in a desperate life or death situation. With a soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and an edition by Lee Smith, the film is constantly exciting, but also extremely dramatic and epic. If you have not seen it yet, I recommend you do it.

Well those three movies are my recommendations.

Thank you for reading.
