Tenho uma série dificuldade em encontrar algo que me prenda nas séries dos streamings em geral, e isso não se dá por falta de conteúdo interessante, mas talvez por que existe essa impressão de "o que está sendo exibido como sugestão" é exatamente aquilo que cativa as massas, e por natureza tendo a querer ser contra-corrente. Não que eu me ache diferentão (eu me acho sim, foda-se), mas por que de fato, por experiência pessoal posso confirmar que tudo que é oferecido em excesso e que cativa a grande maioria, não é necessariamente aquilo que vai me atrair ou me agradar, principalmente em termos de cinema. Tanto é que Shivering Truth nem estava visível como uma opção indicada na lista de "animações" da HBO, mas quando terminei de assistir algum episódio caótico de alguma coisa qualquer do canal Adult Swim essa tal série apareceu como indicação e ao observar o aspecto incrível de marionetes ou coisa do tipo junto a uma sinopse assustadoramente convidativa, eu marquei-o na lista de "quero ver", esperei a filha dormir (por motivos óbvios) e assisti o primeiro episódio. Aquilo dali foi demais, mesmo para um expectador que há pouco falava sobre a Montanha Sagrada num post recente. Logo na primeira oportunidade convidei a namorada @malgarise para vermos junto o restante da primeira temporada. Eu nem sei o que dizer sobre Shivering Truth. Sinceramente. Acho que me cabe apenas deixar o verto verborrágico de uma prosa convulsiva expressar o que me pareceu até agora essa série.

Shivering Truth é tudo que se tem de obscuro, sarcástico, ácido e caótico, filosófico e contraditório, violento e encantador no cinema de: Yorgos Lanthimos, Todd Solondz, Alejandro Jodorowsky, David Lynch, Charlie Kaufman e todo diretor obscuro que faz filmes incômodos e mordazes. É um misto de Chuck Palahniuk com David Foster Wallace e Thomas Pintchon em termos de roteiro, mas tudo isso, todas essas referências batidas em um liquidificador com NBOMe (aquele falso LSD que não só é contrário a todos os benefícios da droga original como também te derrete em psicoses absurdas irreversíveis), e acredite, isso nem é uma ofensa. É como se o existencialismo embebido em drogas alucinógenas encontrassem a sagacidade ácida e humorística de alguma literatura contemporânea caótica e iridescente tal qual Graça Infinita, do falecido Wallace. Na verdade me faltam expressões e analogias, referências ou ideias de o que dizer sobre essa absurda série. Mas talvez o que você leitor queira mesmo, é uma simples e humilde sinopse, correto? Pois bem, vamos então falar um pouco sobre a série em si:

A série possui 2 temporadas e está no ar desde 2018. Ao anunciar o lançamento da série o próprio canal o descreveu como: "a delicately crafted, darkly surreal anthology comedy, a miniature propulsive omnibus cluster bomb of painfully riotous daymares all dripping with the orange goo of dream logic. A series of loosely-linked emotional parables about stories within tales that crawled out of the deepest caverns of your unconscious mind and became lovingly animated in breath-slapping stop motion – in other words, it is the TRUTH". Só essa sinopse que nada diz mas muito intriga já mostra para que lado a série tende a ir. Mas afinal sobre o que falam essas sketches? Bom, o primeiro episódio começa com uma garotinha cega que ao reclamar que algum menino puxou seu sutiã na escola, tem como proposta do diretor que fique de costas e deixe que todos os meninos da escola puxem-lhe e estalem o sutiã até ela descobrir exatamente de quem foi a puxada, mas até isso acontecer forma-se uma espécie de tumor no local onde o elástico do sutiã chicoteia seu corpo e então, a merendeira da escola corta-lhe o tumor naquelas máquinas de cortar presunto em fatias, e enquanto a menina é manipulada como uma grande peça de salame, tendo seu tumor fatiado ao sorriso da merendeira de fundo, pensa: Então foi ela! O plano era todo da merendeira, para ter mais carne para a escola!!! No mesmo episódio, um cientista estuda as borboletas e descobre por que o bater de asas de uma borboleta causaria tornados em outros países e usa dessa descoberta para conseguir tudo que quisesse através da manipulação manual da asa de uma borboleta. Eu paro por aqui, não acho que seja saudável ou [util me aprofundar em detalhes, mas o que posso dizer é que se você gosta de humor ácido e caótico, absurdo e surreal, você vai se dar bem com essa série!
