Valentine's Day Choice: BEFORE SUNSET (Movie Review)

More about the trilogy of the BEFORE series.

Nine years later, Jesse (Ethan Hawke) had to visit Europe for a promotional event for his published book. Who would have thought that while in the middle of an interview about his book, Jesse actually found a woman from his past also present there. Celine (Julie Delpy). Jesse was promoting his best-selling book and in it tells a meeting of a beautiful European man and woman overnight. Which is the original story of the author nine years ago.

The reunion of the two who were in a kind of 'casual relationship'. How did Jesse react to seeing Celine? Of course surprised but not completely surprised considering that the woman did live in Paris. Conversations after conversations were opened again starting from a coffee shop suggested by Celine.

Nine years ago where they were supposed to meet at a station in Vienna but failed, was fully told in this episode. Jesse's flight which would arrive after dusk made their time to meet shorter.

Jesse regretted that they didn't exchange phone numbers or emails when they were going to separate. And Celine regretted it too. Still the same as nine years ago, Jesse's sparkling eyes when chatting with Celine seemed like he didn't want to lose momentum with his dream woman, while Celine did the same.

However, another reality happened, Celine who faithfully waited for Jesse but was not reciprocated because Jesse already had a wife and a son. Although it still made Jesse regret it, Jesse convinced Celine that Celine was the one Jesse was waiting for until his wedding day at that time. Unexpected things also became challenges for both of them.

MORAL MESSAGE THAT I CONCLUDED

Jesse mentioned there that he was forced to marry his wife because she was pregnant with Jesse's seed. Their household did not run smoothly because communication between Jesse and his wife never met a middle ground.

Www
I agree with the principle that what is important in marriage is communication first which is found between women and men. The dynamics of this long-lasting relationship are said to be 80 percent chatter. So, if a man and woman don't meet through chat, please don't decide to just get married!

And see from Jesse's confession? Isn't it true that Jesse is also fed up with his marriage because of communication issues. Communication is a must! No debate for me.

After watching this, I then communicated with a male friend and discussed the content of the film. And we mutually agreed that communication is the estuary of a lasting marriage. This is what made me sure that I have to find the right man, who doesn't have an ego when communicating. Hopefully I will find someone like that soon.

Even though this is an old film, it is still comfortable to watch again. If you need a show for Valentine's Day, I think this is highly recommended, and can also be used as a way to reflect on your relationship with your partner. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Hopefully your romantic relationship will last forever. Happy watching!

I believe communication is a must in every meaningful relationship. Family, friends, partners, you have to be able to communicate, to express, to ask and receive answers in order to understand the other better and create something that lasts.
I love the ending of this film and some of the conversations, but as a whole, I prefer the first one.
