I'm not a big fan of Jason Statham movies. I will say even more - I absolutely do not like the game of this actor and I will not name a single creation that I would like with him. But it so happened that I was able to get to the screening of "Meg 2: The Trench" and, to be honest, I regretted it.
If the first film of the dilogy can be called simply "an ordinary action movie in the style of Statham", then the second is just some kind of ridiculous continuation of the original . After the success of the first part, the studio clearly wanted to just make money, because the new release was too illogical, boring ... just uninteresting.
Yes, you can make an indulgence for the film, because it's just an entertaining story, an action movie with a fantastic background. But there is one big downside to this story. It is too serious. Everything is in the style of the main star of blockbusters, where from time to time ridiculous situations and jokes of the protagonist defuse the situation.
Genre uncertainty also hovers in the film. Meg 2: The Trench tries to be both a horror about primordial monsters and a brutal action movie with elements of comedy at the same time. And again: it looks a little far-fetched, cheap and even ridiculous. The plot is direct, without interesting twists, and the tape is full of all sorts of actions, which, in fact, are easy enough to predict, which is why after a while the story bored me, and I was looking forward to the end of the session.
The conclusion is simple. If you love action with invincible characters and don't expect unexpected twists from the movie, Meg 2: The Trench might be for you. Since I am not a fan of such films, for me it turned out to be boring.
We are not always lucky enough to get a good film. Thanks for the feedback.
