RE: MOVIE REVIEW - “The Exorcist: Believer” (2023)

Ever seen the movie Don't Look Now (1973)? It's one of my favorites.
I would title this Don't Watch this Now or Ever

Reading this review makes me realize that I am glad I am not a movie critic any longer, although I write an occasional review on a blue monday. I really wouldn't enjoy sitting through a turd film like this, let alone having to write a review about it.

I checked out the resume of its director and found out that - after creating some decent and original films - and one I really enjoyed: Prince Avalanche - he has basically sold his soul to the devil and became a horror classic regurgitator ( and that is a nice way of putting it ).
Next up: Hellraiser TV series and another Exorcist flick. Ouch!

Some people really only do things for the money, it seems.

I also found this among the trivia on its IMDb page:

"On William Friedkin's passing, writer and film critic Ed Whitfield posted this on Twitter(X) and Facebook : "William Friedkin once said to me, 'Ed, the guy who made those new Halloween sequels is about to make one to my movie, the Exorcist. That's right, my signature film is about to be extended by the man who made Pineapple Express. I don't want to be around when that happens. But if there's a spirit world, and I can come back, I plan to possess David Gordon Green and make his life a living hell."

No. I'm gonna check it out.

David Gordon Green is proving to be a real (and huge) disappointment!

If you get around to it, let me know how you like it.
