Mi gente de hive espero que estén bien, he estado algo perdido estas semanas por cuestiones de trabajo, y además de unos trabajos con guiones que pronto les comentare mi experiencia, pero el día de hoy volvemos para terminar el camino a los Oscar como se debe, por todo lo alto, y hoy traemos una película que me dejo maravillado de principio a fin, pero que me tomo verla dos veces, para entender todo sus simbolismo y su trama encriptada, y así poder unir el rompecabeza de unas las mejores cinta de este año, El Poder Del Perro, aquí daré mi impresión sin spoilers de la cinta, además de dar cierre a esta gran sección, la cual nos acompaño por bastante tiempo, si bien faltaron películas por reseñar, sin duda estarán en el blog individualmente proximamente, sin más que decir comencemos señores.

La historia está basada en el libro del mismo nombre, creada por Thomas Savage, en la cual narra los relatos de dos hermanos que viven en el desierto, estos son propietarios de grandes tierras, y de un racho bastante acautelado, cada uno tiene una personalidad que los identifica, Por un lado tenemos a George Burbank “Jesse Plemons”, una persona elegante, refinada y con una personalidad bastante calmada; Y por el otro tenemos a un increíble Phill Burbank, Interpretado por “Benedict Cumberbatch” el cual hace un papel de locura, del típico Cowboy salvaje, toxico y explosivo, alguno de los muchos adjetivos que lo identifica, estos Vivian una extraña normalidad, hasta que en cierto momento de esta historia George se enamora de Rose Gordon “Kristen Dunst”, y para la sorpresa de su hermano deciden casarse, esto obliga a rose y su hijo Peter Gordon “Kodi Smit-McPhee” a vivir con ellos en su rancho, lo cual da inicio a los problemas entre Phill y rose, iniciando esta entretenida historia, donde la sexualidad, la discriminación, el suspenso y la masculinidad toxica tienen protagonismo.

Para comenzar esta opinión, tengo que recalcar que esta película no es para todo el mundo, y es entendible por que en cierto punto la trama se puede llegar a tornar pesada y muy lenta, además de ser una cinta que ama los detalles en cada plano, así que hay que estar atento a cada escena, ya que así logras enlazar las piezas necesarias para poder entender el final y toda la trama que cuenta la historia, en mi caso personal le tuve que dar otra oportunidad ya que de buenas a primera, la historia no me quedo muy claro del todo, pese que algunas cosas se logran tener, otras tantas no, así lograr entender bien el final de la película, no se preocupen aquí no daré spoiler, ya que esta cinta tiene que ser vista por todo amante del cine, más si es una forma distinta de contar historias, comparado a lo que solemos ver habitualmente.

La favorita de los Oscar, quería dejarla para el final, y como dice el dicho, lo mejor se hace esperar, y vaya que fue así, una experiencia cinematográfica de otro mundo, una película que en primicia se torna lenta y aburrida, pero que luego en perspectiva, entiendes que son los tiempos perfectos para contarte esta historia, sin hacer tantos spoilers, la película te deja muchos mensajes dentro de su trama, desde la masculinidad frágil en pleno años 20s, la lucha de poderes y la crítica a la discriminación de la época y la actualidad, factores que enamoran de la película, esto a su vez mezclado, de la mejor cinematografía que he visto en esta temporada de premios, como cada escena tiene un simbolismo dentro de la historia, y como gracias a eso te cuentan pequeños fragmentos de la misma, una de las escenas mas evidente y que me costó entender al principio, es la del lago, cuando Phill, semi desnudo toma un pequeño pañuelo, la cual tiene unas iniciales, “algo que no vi la primera vez”, que indica que es de otra persona el cual es importante en la trama, así que con el y luego de pasárselo por su rostro recuerda algo, que lo inspira a tocarse, esta tipo de escenas nos deja ver la vulnerabilidad de un personaje, haciendo que sin duda empaticemos con él, y entendamos el por que de su actitud tan a la defensiva de ser juzgado.

Otro factor que sin duda elevaron la trama de la película, fueron las actuaciones principales, las cuales todas tienen su merecida nominaciones, quisiera dedicarle un párrafo a cada uno, pero me quedaría sin caracteres para describirlos, así que para mi artículo, seleccionare a mis dos favoritos, Bennedict y Kodi, ambos excelentes en sus interpretaciones, primeramente el protagonista de esta historia y nominado a mejor actor, Bennedict hace uno de los mejores papeles que lo he visto, si bien la personalidad gamberra, sucia y salvaje cuesta creerlo en él, su trabajo interpretativo hace que su personaje destaque, Phill es un personaje atormentado por su pasado, esto hace que se muestre de forma distinta a la sociedad, y que solo pocas personas hayan logrado empatizar con él, su “lucha” para hacerle imposible la vida a Rose y Peter me parece perfecta y nos muestra esa sensación de lucha poder y liderazgo toxico, además de tener un final increíblemente ejecutado.

Por otro lado, tenemos a Peter, su contraparte total y absoluta, es evidente que desde que vemos a Pete por primera vez sabemos que es homosexual, algo que para la época se podía considerar hasta un enfermo apartado por la sociedad, este personaje lucha internamente con esto siempre, pero nunca se le ve con miedo, su personalidad pese a verse frágil y débil, nunca cese su determinación, esto se ve con su misión en la cinta, el cual es proteger la felicidad de su madre a todo costo, haciendo cosas que nos enteramos a ya al final de la película, un personaje que se cubre bajo un aura de misterio y misticismo, y pese a que la película es un drama, en ciertos puntos es tan tensa que se convierte hasta en un thriller psicológico, un increíble trabajo para la directora Jane Campion.
