The Gorge is about our two protagonists, Levi (Miles Teller) a former US Marine and private contractor with a high kill record and Drasa (Anya Taylor-Joy) a sniper from Lithuania, both with impressive training.
They are hired individually for a year, to guard and protect from opposite sides and in observation towers equipped with a lot of military material or arsenal, power plants, equipment, etc. Their objective is to guard the great gap called the Abyss in the film, so as not to allow the creatures below to climb up and that under no circumstances can escape. They are not given any additional information. Another of the rules is that the two snipers must not have communication.

Ante esta premisa me pareció que tenía un tema original, sin embargo al ir desarrollándose me di cuenta que aunque la premisa es original tiene una cantidad de referencias, tributos o escenas de otras películas. Por ejemplo:
- Cuando Levi salta de su torre de observación hacia la torre de observación donde se encuentra Drasa, me parece haberla visto en "Misión Imposible".
- La comunicación entre ambos a través de carteles, lo vi en la película coreana "Vivo". * * El estilo de romance de ambos protagonistas se me pareció mucho a "Lala land" y "Pasajeros".

I mean, a lot of the things that happened seemed very familiar at the time, and I felt a bit strange watching them. However, I continued watching the movie and I think the real hook was the romantic relationship of the protagonists, since it felt like they really had a good vibe between them.
Despite all the aspects I mentioned above, The Gorge is a movie that grabs you, you want to see how they resolve the situations, and the protagonists make risky decisions and make it move forward within the action and thriller.
Me refiero a que muchas cosas de las que pasaban, parecían ser muy familiar en su momento, algo extraña me sentía viéndolas. Sin embargo, si continuaba viendo la película y creo que el verdadero gancho era la relación romántica de los protagonistas, ya que se sentía que realmente tenían buena vibra entre ambos.
A pesar de todos los aspectos que mencioné anteriormente, El Abismo Secreto, es una película que te atrapa, que quieres ver cómo resuelven las situaciones, y es que los protagonistas toman decisiones arriesgadas y hacen que avance dentro de la acción y el thriller.

All the references, tributes or I don't know how to explain it, from other movies. I don't think it was necessary, they had a good story to develop.
How they discover what The Gorge is really about, it seemed like the instructions of a video game, everything was very convenient or put there so that it would happen.
Sigourney Weawer's role was very small, it is unfortunate to waste this actress like that, and even put her in the main credits as a hook for the movie, to then give her so few lines.
