Good day MTG nerds! I've gotten lazy over the last bit and let my rank slip. This is the deck I played for a quick climb back up to mythic! We played an old fav of mine, brewed way back when the explorer format was just coming out for Arena. Its fast, interactive, and draws alot of cards! Here is my 3c Season of growth deck for explorer <3
We are all about cheap target spells and card draw with this brew, check out the 1.2 average CMC for the deck! We lean into Favored Hoplite as our #1 creature, with Swiftspear as a back-up. They are decent together as you can target Hoplite with your spells and have Swiftspear's prowess still trigger.
We run a really cool interaction in the deck with our only 2 CMC cards. Season of Growth lets us draw a card when you target one of your creatures with a spell, while also letting you scy when a creature enters your board. Young pyromancer creates a creature token every time you cast a target spells. Just these 2 on board makes every 1 mana target spell create a 1/1 token, scy 1, and draw 1 ontop of the spell itself. Things get crazy if you end up with a few of these down together, although its not often we get dragged into a long match.
Besides those 4 cards, we filled the rest of the deck with 1 mana target spells. We have 3 types; Removal (Reckless Rage, Tail Swipe), Protection (God's Willing, Snakeskin Veil), and Card Draw+ (Defiant Strike, Ancestral Anger, Charge Through)
Each spell stacks Hoplite and gives him protection from all damage. The gameplan to start is normally play Hoplite on turn 2, leaving protection up. Avoid playing a creature turn 1 unless you have a second in hand, as we need atleast 1 creature to function.
Anyways, I normally post decks using cool new cards. I'm posting this one up for anyone new to MTGA. This is a really strong budget deck for new players who don't want to run the mono red aggro. This deck HAS 0 RARES/MYTHICS excluding the landbase.

I do have a new brew for this too using some rares, but thought this was cool lol. I honestly brewed this version along time ago with without any restrictions, and just relized it had no rares or mythics. Accidental budget brew 😂
I may post it at a later date, but the revamp of this deck with Rotpriests and Royal Treatment is pretty powerful.. We are now winning with infect 😝
