A couple of weeks ago Bitcoin was nuked from a bit over $20,000 from where it was warming up to rally alongside the traditional markets to as low as $16,000 just because of the FTX collapse. I don't have many details on how FTX worked, but it seemed to have been a house of cards that would eventually fall. After FTX filed for bankruptcy SBF left the country like a coward.
He ran to the Bahamas from where he was still quite active on social media. He then was arrested by the police, held in custody by Bahamian law enforcement, and extradited to the US a couple of days ago. It was rumored that he would face 120 years in prison and some were celebrating that.
Now I don't know for how long vegans live but to me, that's a life sentence. Yesterday he appeared in court and believe it or not, he was bailed. He actually got a $250 million bond agreement. He's not basically bailed yet, he's on house arrest with electronic location monitoring, as well as restrictions on spending, business activities, and firearms.
The appearance bond, as filed with the court, establishes a $250,000,000 "personal recognizance bond" guaranteed by four people, at least one of them not a member of Bankman-Fried’s family. For now, though, the only two signatures are those of Allan Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried, SBF's father and mother.

I'm not getting into too many details on the bond because it's futile. It is clear that this fucker is on the right side of the system. He had donated campaign funds to both parties in America, after all. Hence these people won't simply close their eyes toward this guy.
But, imagine that if you're caught stealing something or having a bag of weed on yourself chances are that you're going to jail. However, if you steal $10 billion in user funds and gamble with them and then lose them all through leverage trading and collaterals and whatever the fuck he's done with people's cash, you get a "stay at home" and a $250 million bail that's actually a bond...
It is clear that laws are just for plebs and this became clearer and clearer in the past couple of years or so. The ones who flew on Jeffrey Epstein's famous island and fucked underage girls didn't go to jail and Jeffrey mysteriously hanged himself, Hunter Biden... nothing, Hillary Clinton... nothing, but if you refused to wear a mask you would have gotten yourself a fine.
And what do people do? Nothing... I wonder if there's any cure for the lethargy we have drowned ourselves in, but I pray "they'll discover" one soon.

People keep bringing up the political donations thing, but that isn't why SBF is on bail, and it isn't going to get him a softer sentence, either. The reason SBF is out on bail is that his family are wealthy. That's why this all comes down to how rich you or your family are.

The whole point of bail isn't paying anything, it's security. Did you check the details? Because part of the bail was his parents fronting their Palo Alto home. A lien will be placed on their home. There are two other people listed on the document as well. But, his parents are Stanford professors, they're not poor.

It is beyond politics.
White collar crime is notoriously more difficult to investigate and prosecute than blue collar crime, because the perpetrators usually have more education, time, resources and tools to cover their tracks than average street mugger or rapist. And furthermore, it is much more difficult to maintain public interest in such stories, because they are more complicated and seemingly have less impact on the lives of Joe Sixpack than stories about ordinary murders and rapes.
When such stories get public attention and wheels of justice begin to turn, it is usually due to dimensions of such crimes being too big to ignore and/or perpetrators stepping on some powerful toes (like Bernie Madoff). Or due to "happy" coincidence, like Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein going down due to investigations which were originally intended to get Trump.

I doubt bitcoin was warning up to rally. But point well taken overall. 12K likely soon before anything above halfway to a new ATH. I got my buying shoes on and am buying daily.
SBF will either be taken out or get away free. Maybe slim chance of doing a couple years at a country club but yea the ultimate silence might come to him. His parents are really the ones to be watching.
