Paid Texting Already Here

in LeoFinance4 years ago (edited)

My first mobile phone came in the form of a Nokia 3310, in the year 2002 if I'm not mistaking, a second hand one that I bought, actually my father did, for about $40... Yes, those were times when mobile phones were far from selling at one grand a piece, and mine was already a few years old when it reached my pocket. Good times though, with lots of real interaction and a quite better social life in my opinion.

I wasn't texting too much at that time because during those times texting was a paid option and not a given. There was no mobile internet, and you could hardly afford to talk to the often for a few bucks a month, but it had to start somewhere and in my case it was a monochrome 3310 screen that saw my first text message on it.

Now, taking into account whatsapp, facebook messenger and telegram, there are probably tens of billions of texts being sent on a daily basis around the world, people becoming more social, but mostly from behind a smartphone screen. I text myself as well, but not too much... For traditional texting I am using telegram, as I have quit facebook and whatsapp long time ago, but I have another way of texting, one that is more rewarding both psychologically and financially.

I text on leofinance if you can even imagine that. Quite often I find myself browsing and being active on leo from my smartphone and most of my comments, even the long and full of grammar mistakes ones, are made trough a 5" smartphone screen. I don't post often on leo by using my smartphone, but I do a lot of interacting through it and it feels a lot like texting. Not just for the sake of using a phone, but from a conversation stand point, as I often get replies to my comments and I reply to them as well.

I also get paid to do that. Wait, what? Kidding, no one is paying me to do anything at the moment. I do get rewards on my comments quite often, and probably you do that too, and since engaging feels like texting to me, then getting comments rewards feels a hell lot like getting paid to text. Ohhh, if all the billions of master texters out there would knew about that...

They will probably find out at some point, as the tokenization process will expand to many areas of our life, but it will be when everyone will do that, and not in its early stages, as we do it for the moment. If you're around leo for a while then you should probably have heard about the initiative 10 of @taskmaster4450 which is aimed at encouraging curators to upvote comments, and content creators and active leo users to engage more, making the platform feel alive, generating traffic, connecting alike bloggers and readers, and also spreading the curating mana that we all have on other than posts around here.

I know I just click baited you with this post, but to me, it feels a lot like I'm getting paid to text on a daily basis when being active on leo from my phone. I read and comment on posts after breakfast, I do that while in a coffee shop, while laying on the couch with no defined purpose for the day, and even before bed time... Pretty much like most of the folks around the world are texting these days, just that I'm paid for that. I'm a master texter that's currently collecting pennies through this type of texting, about 20 LEOs collected a day ago, and aiming higher than that of course. I even had three comments a few days ago that were upvoted by @onealfa with 40 LEOs. Match that on whatsapp. Tokenization will ultimately conquer many of our daily activities in my opinion, but why not hit it in its early stages.

Read, write, engage and get paid for that. What a better slogan for the initiative 10, isn't it @taskmaster4450?

Thanks for attention,
Adrian

40 Leo? That must have been a beast of a comment. It was kind of satisfying to read this post and this is because I'm majorly engaging and bringing my contents via my phone and I've never owned a laptop. The internet, access and any type of device can do the magic provided it's enabled to an extent.
Cheers @onealfa, cheers to you too. Everyone can type but not everyone types to earn. We here in Leofinance do.

Here you go, @josediccus !

You just got one too, to try the taste.

😃😁🤣👍

Haaaaaaa it must be my lucky day indeed, it might be up to fifteen years in Leo before my comment can hit such a score again. Whooooooo it feels good by the way. Thank you @onealfa

It sure tastes good. What's up with you lately? Going silent, can't even remember when I've seen your last post.

The payout was a beast for me. Don't really remember what where the comments about tbh.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You've just scored your beat comment by the way ;)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Whooooooo that was oddly satisfying it feels like I'm afloat, that was indeed beastly,

I know how it feels :)

I've been on the receiving end of those 40 LEO upvotes as well. It's obviously encouraging and fun, but to be perfectly honest, I would rather have smaller upvotes on my comments and larger on my articles, the other way around feels weird. I am sure we are heading towards that direction in the near-ish future though, but in the mean time, it's one helluva ride and I love to see the comments on my own articles being curated by other users as well. It's motivating and captivating at the same time.

Both taskmaster and onealfa does a tremendous job curating and rewarding all types of content which is super-cool, and what's even better is all the people who's following in their footsteps. Engagement is fun, rewarding and refreshing and we're off to a really good start with Initiative 10.

I don't mind having comments upvoted more than my own posts. It's still some sort of content creation and it's no reason why it should be appreciated. Moreover the platform feels more alive with that many active users.

I can't say that I mind it either, but I would prefer to see content be more rewarded than comments in general. I obviously understand that it can be various circumstances for it to be the other way around, but in general. That is also the case right now though, content is more rewarded than articles in general so there's nothing weird or wrong with it.

Initiative 10 is awesome for engagement and we can clearly see how well we're doing in terms of engagement lately. That wouldn't have been possible without neither taskmaster or onealfa, so I am certainly glad for everything they do.

Everything I've posted since I started on HIVE has been from my cellphone. Can't stand sitting in a chair typing on a keyboard for very long. I can chill outside or on the couch and write this way.

I will need to invest in a decent desktop soon (at least for security sake). Our computers have all been highjacked for work (wife) and games (kids). I don't even bother trying to use their devices anymore. Great thoughtful post.

I like to comment on my cell because it has the voice to text and I'm a very very slow typist. I have to use my home computer for all the (well everything else), I'm not that in tune with my smartphone.

I built my website from my cellphone. At least at the start. There were certain actions I couldn't take on WordPress, so I had to jump on the laptop after about three months. Computer time is hard to come by in our household. I need my own personal desktop.

Cellhones are good for commenting. And better for Building.

I remember what it was like having to share the main computer, not to mention we used to do a lot of online gaming. Now that I'm used to having my own computer without the settings ever being changed on anything it's great!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I mean laptops/desktops are better for Building.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks. I love using the laptop but too much typing on it hurts my right hand, and I'm not always around it. That's why I feel like texting by using my phone that much to interact on leo.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I had to text so much for my last job that I got used to it. I can often use the word filler up top without even having to type the whole words out.

Not sure it slows me down that much. Marketing students are well aware of the rising trend away from laptops and desktops and over to mobile use. That trend may have reverted a bit with all the lockdowns, but I bet it picks back up. I think cellphone use is still over 50% off all web views.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'm using the word filler as well and luckily my phone has the menu in English so it helps a lot with typing. Ever since the 3310 I refused to use my native language for the phone's menu. I simply don't feel like using it although I love it and it's a quite complex and beautiful language.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Nice. My language studies are only in English (obviously) and Spanish. Nothing outside the Romance languages.

20 LEO for a text message?

that's cool! if @taskmaster4450 predictions are correct about LEO price in the future, that's 200$ for a comment at least...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It is indeed. Never imagined to live these times...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is an interesting perspective. I guess the lack of vision demonstrated by the vast majority of the world's finest texters has been a blessing to us because it has afforded us the opportunity become early adopters.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Billions of people around the world text daily for free...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You got me, I thought what a great idea and why did it take so long to happen, then it was our LEO-HIVE!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Guilty for click baiting... I do it once in a while.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I like your perspective!
I'm not that much on comments, mainly because of my job and my limited time, still im trying to engage with people at least on my blogs.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I do have a lot of time and that's why I'm so active. It really feels like texting...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's good, especially if you like it!!
