UK travel tech: A sector reborn from the pandemic’s ashes?

Article via UKTN

It just occured to me that 40 years ago right now I was in the US Navy. I was on the USS Samuel Gompers, a destroyer tender, was on a West Pac cruise.
We were docked in the US Naval base in Yokosuka Japan. I don't even remember where I have any pictures I took on that cruise. But I still have some nice memories.

For sure, sounds like an interesting time!

Yes, it was. I was in my 20s so personal space wasn't quite so important to me. Which is a good thing because there was no such thing on that ship.

4o years ago...I wasnt even in high school yet. LOL

Yeah, I know. I'm OLD! Thanks for that. LOL 😂

No problem. Always here to remind you for when those Biden moments hit and you thing you are a spry young girl who can do acrobatic things on the balance beam.

I simply dont want you to hurt yourself.

Thank you again so very much! Cuz I probably would hurt myself.

I know I would hurt myself. Hell I would have hurt myself when a young man, let alone now.

I would be in traction.

I know, right?! Me too. I remember being in Vegas a few years ago for a reunion. Our group stayed at the Golden Nugget and they have the zip line thing right there. I got grief because I didn't want to do it. You know, called a chicken because it's not that far off the ground. Peer pressure. I didn't cave though. Please I could kill myself tripping on a crack in the sidewalk. I almost did once on a walk with Roy. Story for another day. I didn't give a damn. I didn't want to end up crippled from something I didn't need to be doing in the first place. I am mostly risk averse.

My first backpacking trip... back in 2000 we were heading off to do all of Latin America in 6 months and I kept a journal full of exciting adventures.

Soon to become a blog? And then a book maybe. #leotravel

Amazing, go for it! Do you still keep a physical journal (as well as anything you write online)? Cool keepsake, and you can use all that content…

I don't write as much as I used to... but I also travel a pot less! Yeah there's lots of content for sure.

Hello friends! Have you ever had any problems when traveling by car on the road?

I remember when I was 11 years old and the car we were in got into a hole and the tire cut and we had to take it to a workshop.

Even though we were on an almost deserted road, luckily my father was able to find a garage and replace the tire.

Unforeseen events sometimes happen and we must be ready for them.

A few times when a car has broken down. Fortunately, nothing too bad and we were able to sort it soon enough!

I am glad to hear that. These are things that can happen to anyone, but the important thing is to be safe and be able to resolve these unforeseen events.
