Crypto Meets Super Bowl

If you're watching the big game on Sunday, February 13, you'll likely see a crypto ad, welcome to 2022!

New is breaking that not one but 2 major crypto brands, exchanges for that matter, have purchased ad space for the big game. Both crypto.com and FTX exchanges have reportedly purchased ad space to the tune of $6.5 Million a piece.

That's what 30 seconds of super bowl ad time costs these days. Worth it, heck yeah! Personally I think cypto is a great fit for big ad spends like this. One it's mainstream as hell, and two if you play an ad during the super bowl you almost get instant meme status.

Think back to some of the ridiculous ads, if your brand is putting itself out there, especially these days we're everything seems like a meme, this should be a great fit!

Do They Go With Comedy?

Humor is a hit in marketing, and especially in viral marketing, has been and while be for a log time to come I'm sure.

Do these two companies go for a message with a strictly professional tone, simply get the brand across the screen and into the mind of millions of viewers, or do they go for something ridiculous with the big spot light?

Who's Next?

We've got two crypto companies on board, who's next?

Binance, Kraken, Coinbase, any of these exchanges could jump on the band wagon. Exchanges are going to rule the world in the not so distant future. I'm pretty sure I've written a post on this last year.

Exchanges may dominate on crypto more than you can even imagine right now. What happens if exchanges control ETH through proof of stake, this could be a thing in a few years.

These companies are in massive growth phases and now's the time to up the spending on acquisition, I think it's a great move personally. Then during the winter they can switch to focus on retention efforts.

Ciao for now,
