My Referral Strategy Retrospective: "I'll Pay You to Sign Up!"

in LeoFinance21 hours ago

Since I first heard about INLEO's Referral Rewards system, I brainstormed ways to make full use of it. I knew if I invited 10 or even 5 active people per month, I'll earn much more online than I earn today. I was kinda successful. Kinda... Let me elaborate.

INLEO's Referral System

INLEO.IO the social platform built on HIVE Blockchain has multiple features unique to it that set it apart from other HIVE Platforms. INLEO has a revenue system consisting of Paid Premium features, the Subscription Model for users to limit some of their content for their own Paid Subscribers, and there should be a LeoAds system coming in the future to capture value from page views.

A key feature INLEO has, though, is the Referral System. If you invite people and they create a HIVE via the invitation link, they'll become your referrals and you earn from their activity.

You'll be able to earn up to $50 per referral if they're active enough on the platform. As you'll earn rewards in the $LEO token once they hit milestones in their Blog Content, Threads Content, and also when they Subscribe to Premium for the 1st time.

That system incentivizes people to invite their friends and family, and even people they don't know. It also encourages you to encourage your referrals to stay active.

While I haven't invited all of my family and friends yet, (mostly because their English isn't very good and Arabic/RTL text doesn't appear correctly here,) I wanted to have strategy to invite people other than them too...

First Strategy: Crypto Pay-to-Click Websites

Since INLEO is essentially a Crypto platform. My first idea was to advertise it on other Crypto Platforms. I first advertised on FaucetPay's PTC system. I figured if people actually saw how good INLEO is, they'll join. If I had 1 person join out of 1000 clicks, I'll get my money's worth.

I was too naive.

I spent $2 in BCH on FaucentPay advertising. I even linked to an article that says I'll Pay You to Sign Up and I didn't get any referral. I decided to mark this idea as a failure for now, but I might try again in the future.

I also tried to advertise it on CoinPayU, but I needed $10 to start there, so I didn't bother.

Second Strategy: Traffic Exchanges

I tried to put my referral links in Traffic Exchange websites, but inleo wasn't compatible with EasyHits4U and I didn't get any referrals from LeadsLeap when I spent 100~ credits on it.

If you know about a Traffic Exchange that focuses on Crypto websites, but isn't affiliated with HIVE. Please let me know about it.

Third Strategy: Microwork/Crowdsourcing Websites

My next strategy was to make 'Paying People to Join' a job offer. I thought about ways to do it, like Reddit, but I settled on Microjobs websites. Sites that have a category for "Sign Up for Pay."

My first option was PicoWorkers, I posted a job. I got my first few referrals from there. I settled on $0.15 for creating an account and writing the first thread. Most people did just that, but I got some people who posted "Job Done" while not even signing up.

I actually wanted to try Microworkers first, but for some reason, I couldn't top-up my account on it. I found Picowokers while looking for alternatives.

Picowrokers didn't have the option to Pay in cryptocurrency, so I looked for an alternative that has an audience that understands crypto.

Latium was my second option! It had a sizable crypto audience, but not all users there know what cryptocurrency is.

I got a lot of applications for my Job Offer and the best part is that I was able to communicate with my potential referrals via messages. I posted the same job offer as I did on Picoworkers.

I paid $0.15 in $LTC for Signing Up and Creating the First Thread. On this site, I gave them 7 days to complete this simple task.

A lot of people accepted the Job and ghosted it for some reason. Out of 66 Contracts created, only 22 users have joined INLEO. Though, looking at my referral count, I assume some people have joined, and failed to let me know about it. What a shame...

The Issue of Retaining People

While my Third Strategy was able to get me referrals. (More than I predicted, actually.) Not a single one of them became an active user. I wonder if they didn't find INLEO appealing, or if they had a hard time using it. Or maybe they created other accounts for a reason or another...

On Latium, I could message people after paying them, but non of the people I messaged replied with reasons they didn't use INLEO. I should investigate this more.

For now, here's a screenshot of some of these accounts I invited and their (lacking) activity:

Next Strategy...?

I had an idea for a different strategy to refer people, but since it required more money and wasn't guaranteed success, I needed more starting capital. I needed to know that I could Claim the Referral Rewards at any time. This was only fixed in this month's updates.

Now, after nagging INLEO's @khaleelkazi multiple times to fix the Claim Button, and decrease the Reward Threshold, he has finally done that. I can comfortably start the next idea. This time, I'll try to retain more and more people!

Thanks for Reading.~

i see you are all in on this, so i'm buddy, i just got my first referral to get in, but man its not easy, especially in my country and were i reside, most people dont even know about web3 talkless of blockchain and all of that require big long talk so they understand and stay active,.

Yeah, it's not easy at all...

However i've got my plans 😄

That's good. Good Luck!

This is an excellent review on all of these method and will be valuable for anyone looking to employ these techniques. If there is a possibility to pay them in $LEO, that might increase engagement because they will have to learn to use INLEO. Most of the time the users are on these platforms to make money. They might not even realize that HIVE has a massive potential for earning. It could be a mindset problem.

Posting about INLEO on some communities where people are looking for blogging advice might be worth a shot. The main idea is to onboard users who aim to make money on the platform rather then considering it a mere task to complete to get paid a few cents.

Yeah, I realized that bringing people who view it as a task isn't worth it for long-time engagement. It was still worth a shot, though.

We now have the test data because you went ahead and tried it. That's a gain for all of us!
