You NEVER Own Your DATA, Not even on HIVE
What HIVE makes possible isn't owning your data, is removing that ownership from going to centralized entities that would profit off it.
At least on HIVE, if the data is valuable, all those who have HIVE stake benefit off it.
Ownership of your data on Hive also means being able to be the one that controls it. You cannot be taken down from Hive, but you can be blacklisted from front ends. It's on the blockchain and can always be called back, even if you delete it from the front ends yourself. But that doesn't mean the data you post is yours because people do like to copy others, so in a sense you are correct, but not at the same time... It's a weird conundrum, lol.
