"We Don't Want Crypto People on HIVE" ...Is This True?

in LeoFinance2 months ago

"We don't want Crypto People here" was one of the points discussed by @taskmaster4450 during the Lion's Den last Friday. This discussion followed @brando28's idea of building a telegram mini-app for HIVE because that's where 'soon-to-become-coiners' are.

While I see Brando's point, I believe Task's statement is based on the idea that 'Crypto People' are the type of audience that only takes from the projects and doesn't give anything in return. I believe it's not worded perfectly, but there are still many people in the crypto space who are like that. I was such a person back in my Airdrop days.

Not all Crypto People are included in this, (admittedly bad,) stereotype.

People included are those who jump from airdrop to airdrop, forgetting each one as soon as the next one drops. Those who only spend the minimum time possible on a project. Those who lack responsibility for their 'investment' and still feel entitled for their share in the returns. Those who don't engage in the platform, and are quick to get out with their money before its death.

I can't even say it's their fault, though.

Most projects in the crypto space die in a few months. Statically, you'll lose more if you put your faith that a project will continue to grow after its initial airdrop. The fact that HIVE is still alive as a project until today is an exception to the rule. Even then, the value of $HIVE as a token isn't as attractive as it was before.

Eating as much as you could from a project doomed to fail could be seen as a survival skill.

We do want Crypto People! That's what I believe... Just, the people who tend to stay for longer than the minimum. The people who believe they should put in the platform as much as they want to get back from it. The people who look into the future, and decide if our platform is for them or not. The ones who don't write the platform off while still using it.

The kind of people who joined Steem/HIVE in the first place and helped build it.

Great times are ahead! Or so, I believe!

Thanks for Reading!

Are you familiar with @ecency Waves app?

I heard of it, is it on Appstores?

Yes it is available on both AppStore and Playstore

That's great... I'll download it to my phone!

It’s on Apple, didn’t check android yet.

I installed it, logged in with hive keychain, yet to write a post.

I wonder if the number of HIVE users are incrrasing or decreasing.....?! Any thoughts?? !wine

I don't know for the whole HIVE, but Inleo.io keeps giving us numbers, and the users of inleo keep increasing from month to month. So I think the number of HIVE users overall is increasing.

I would agree with the behaviour of crypto people to a certain point but on the other side I would say not all crypto guys are like this. I would see myself as a mature crypto guy. I did all the airdrop and other stuff in the past. I see Hive as a long term project and milking it dry makes no sense to me. I haven't even gotten money out of Hive since I joined 3 years ago. I keep stacking and occasionally get some fist and buy more Hive and tokens from my favourite projects.

I agree that not all crypto people are like this. I even said in the article above that this is a bad stereotype.

I would see myself as a mature crypto guy. I did all the airdrop and other stuff in the past.

I was like that too! I think a lot of us are like that or have been like that in the crypto space. It's part of the learning process.

I haven't even gotten money out of Hive since I joined 3 years ago.

That's the best mindset... I need money in real life, so I get it out from time to time, but I try to touch my HP as little as possible!

Taking money out of it from time to time is okay.
