Part 6/9:
Wharariki Beach, about 4.5 hours from Picton, took my breath away. A 15-minute walk led us to a mesmerizing coastline with sweeping sand dunes and the iconic Archway Islands. We stayed through sunset, witnessing an ethereal orange glow illuminating the horizon—an unforgettable experience that truly encapsulated the beauty of nature.
8. Lake Te Anau: A Blue Haven
Traveling 3 hours from Christchurch led us to Lake Te Anau, a lake distinguished by its crystal-clear blue waters. Visiting between November and January grants the opportunity to see scenic lupine flowers in bloom. The night sky here is also considered one of the world's most spectacular views, perfect for stargazing.
