Notably, moving to Iceland has significantly impacted Josh's mental health. Living in an environment where he feels less burdened by racial identity has been liberating for him. While he acknowledges the existence of racism in Iceland, his individual experience has been largely positive, allowing him to embrace his identity as "Jules from New York" rather than solely being defined by his skin color.
Having married into an Icelandic family provided Josh with newfound support and community connections. His relationship with his Icelandic boyfriend has further enriched his life, creating new avenues for happiness and companionship.
