Western Australia, covering a significant one-third of the Australian continent, is not just notable for its size but also for its extraordinary contrasts. From vast deserts to vibrant cities, and landscapes that heft ancient wonders, this region presents a journey of discovery for locals and visitors alike.
With about 2.5 million square kilometers to explore—an area comparable to all of Western Europe—Western Australia is often eclipsed by the more populous eastern states. Surprisingly, despite its immense size, only around 2.7 million people call this rugged terrain home, centralizing around Perth, the state capital, while the rest are dispersed across the vast wilderness.
