Part 4/10:
The following day, we set out to Peneda-Gerês National Park, Portugal's only national park, known for its lush forests and diverse weather systems. Here, we encountered scenic waterfalls, with the impressive Ponte de Mizarela exemplifying nature’s beauty amidst the misty weather. Despite rain, the enchanting environment of the park was never diminished, reminding us of the wild heart of Portugal.
Serendipitous Discoveries
Camping near a vibrant wild fig tree, we reveled in nature's bounty. Our journey continued through fog-shrouded landscapes to abandoned mountain villages steeped in history. We marveled at their granaries, known as Espigueiros, which reflect a unique architectural adaptation to their environment.
