Nestled on dramatic limestone cliffs over 70 meters high, Bonifacio is one of the most unique cities I've visited. Founded around 900 AD, the old town's ancient structures often seem to defy gravity as they cling to eroding cliffs. Walking through the harbor, the vibrant atmosphere filled with boats was a joy. The uphill trek to the main section of Bonifacio rewards visitors with stunning views, especially when exploring the “Stairs of the King of Aragon,” a steep staircase cut into the cliffs leading down to the sea.
As the sun sets, the cliffs and the village are bathed in an orange glow, offering a spectacle not to be missed.
