Next, we ventured to Goddards of Greenwich, a family-run establishment serving pie and mash since 1890. The traditional pie consists of minced beef encased in a flaky pastry, served alongside creamy mashed potatoes and topped with liquor, a parsley sauce originally derived from eel cooking stews. The restaurant has adapted over the years to include various flavors, including vegetarian options, ensuring that there’s something for everyone.
While at Goddards, we sampled the classic minced beef pie with its signature liquor, as well as a vegan version that retained the essence of the traditional dish.
