Part 2/8:
Over the course of a two-day journey, I set out to explore each of these four distinct high-speed train services in Spain, indulging in first-class amenities whenever possible. My goal was to assess which train offered the superior travel experience as I traversed the picturesque Spanish countryside at speeds nearing 300 km/h.
Evaluating Each Train Experience
My adventure kicked off with the original Spanish high-speed train known as the AVE (Alta Velocidad Española). Riding in booked first-class, my initial impressions were shaped by its spacious seating and clean environment; however, signs of wear were visible in some areas. The booking process with the national operator Renfe, while improved, still presented challenges—especially in navigating its website.
