Imagine the entire Earth, from crust to core, expanding uniformly beneath our feet, while our structures remain static. This would lead to an immediate sensation—a slight jolt—and then a slow, almost imperceptible rise at a rate of 1 cm per second. For the first day, it would be hard to notice much change aside from the initial jolt, as the Earth would have expanded by a staggering 864 meters by day’s end.
In terms of weight, if one weighed 70 kg when the expansion commenced, they would find themselves weighing 70.1 kg by day’s end, a shift that is far too subtle for most to detect.
