The rebels have control over slightly more than half of Syria's land area, but much of the territory east of the Euphrates River is still held by Kurdish forces. This article delves into the current state of affairs in Syria, focusing on the power dynamics at play, particularly the influence and ambitions of the Kurdish forces in the northeast, commonly referred to as Rojava.
