Kyle's initiation into the world of manufacturing began with the desire to build his own copper still. While he might have been broke at the time, he saw an opportunity intertwined with his passion: "If I buy this sheet of copper and make three stills instead of one, I can sell two and get mine for free." This practical approach to a hobby led him to produce his first copper still kits.
What started as a pursuit of enjoyment quickly turned into a labor-intensive project. Despite spending hours creating and selling stills on eBay and earning meager returns—"a literal dollar or two per hour"—Kyle found fulfillment in the craftsmanship rather than financial gain.
