The transition from the habitat to the job site happens through a "wet pot," acting as an airlock. Once on the job site, divers don helmets and work for a six-hour shift before rotating out with another team. Throughout their time submerged, divers consume revitalizing meals to maintain energy, as the physical demands of their work lead to high caloric expenditure, requiring up to 6,000 calories daily.
