Firstly, I found that the pricing was not always affordable; some required taking a percentage of sales, while others started at reasonable prices but became costly as my business scaled. More importantly, I was uncomfortable relinquishing control over crucial user data, such as user accounts and purchase records. I had future ideas, like interactive learning experiences and Discord giveaways, that I wanted to integrate seamlessly into my platform.
It became clear that if I wanted full control and customization options, building my own platform would be the best route.
