As election day approaches, Die Linke appears to be experiencing unexpected momentum. Since the beginning of 2023, over 23,000 new members have joined the party, pushing its total membership beyond 81,000—surpassing its previous record set in 2009. Polling numbers have also improved significantly; starting the year at around 3%, the party has seen its support rise to as high as 6% in recent weeks. Crucially, this puts Die Linke above the vital 5% threshold necessary for parliamentary representation.
