Understanding the Basics of Monetization
First, context is key. As a newly-monetized creator, I want to emphasize a fundamental message: stop obsessing over subscriber numbers. In my experience, I've learned that having more subscribers doesn’t necessarily translate to higher earnings—a concept which may surprise many aspiring creators.
At the time of filming, I had 3,546 subscribers. Importantly, not one of my videos has gone viral. Despite this, I've consistently met YouTube's minimum payment threshold of $100 each month. For those who may not be familiar, this threshold means that you must earn at least $100 in a month for YouTube to send your payment the following month; if you don’t, your earnings carry over into the following month.
