The Future: Coaching or Continued Play?
As Austin reflects on his career and the eventuality of retirement, he has made it known that his current focus remains on playing. The joy of competing and scoring continues to be central, despite flirtations with a future in coaching. He maintains that he could potentially take on a coaching role, but for now, he’s fully committed to making the most of his time on the pitch.
“To still be involved in the environment I love—with a chance to play, mentor, and lead—is something I count myself lucky to be doing,” he expressed towards the end of the conversation.
