Part 2/7:
Following closely is the AfD, led by Alice Weidel, making a historic impact with 20.8% of the vote and 151 seats, a massive jump of 10.4 points. The incumbent Chancellor Olaf Scholz from the SPD suffered a dramatic decline, receiving just 16.4% of the votes and being relegated to 121 seats.
Other parties such as the Greens, led by Robert Habeck, achieved 11.6% with 85 seats, while the Left Party (Die Linke) remarkably returned with 8.8% and 64 seats, despite earlier polling around 3%. The splinter parties, BSW and FDP, fell short, with the former just missing the crucial 5% threshold by a whisker.
