However, reality contradicts this; hard work does not always lead to wealth, and virtuous individuals frequently suffer injustices. This discrepancy stems from the very structure of our society, where power dynamics often overshadow merit.
When evaluating success, one must understand that it is not freely given but rather fought for by those who grasp the rules of engagement more adeptly than others. Recognizing the existence of power—neutral in itself—is pivotal. While the virtuous can succeed, it requires more than mere kindness: strategic thinking and an awareness of the competitive landscape are vital.
