The most dangerous myth is perhaps the belief in waiting for the “perfect” moment to invest. Many individuals try to outsmart the market, believing that if they wait just a little longer, they can buy at a lower price. The reality is, nobody can accurately predict the ideal moment to invest.
A telling personal example involves a client who, in 2018, pulled out of their investments, convinced that a significant market crash was imminent. They waited for conditions to improve, only to miss out as the market began to recover and grow exponentially through the pandemic. By 2024, he was still waiting for a downturn, while the market had doubled since his decision to exit.
