In a recent study published by Anthropic, the impact of AI on the labor market was dissected. The findings revealed that out of the workforce, only 3.4% pertains to AI, yet a staggering 37% of prompts focus on mathematics and coding. While Claude hasn’t yet taken any human programming jobs, it has made inroads in sectors previously dominated by human contributors, such as Stack Overflow.
When it comes to practical applications, Claude 3.7 decisively outperformed all models in recent benchmarks, including its predecessor, Claude 3.5, and OpenAI's alternatives. Most notably, Claude 3.7 tackled 70.3% of GitHub issues, significantly enhancing its credibility, even if these results should be taken with a pinch of salt.
