Recently, however, Turkey's rhetoric has shifted significantly toward a more overtly pro-Ukrainian stance. This change began following a surprise visit from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Ankara, where Erdoğan unequivocally stated that Ukraine’s territorial integrity was "non-negotiable" and voiced support for Ukraine joining NATO. This marked a stark contrast to the previous U.S. administration’s approach, which indicated that Ukraine may have to concede some territory to Russia in any future negotiations.
